MiniStudyStep

MiniStudyStep is a study planning and growth-tracking app that helps students begin with one small step and honestly record what actually happened. It is not designed to monitor, punish, or blame students. Starting a task, studying for a short time, choosing to continue, admitting that something is difficult, and asking for help are all meaningful signs of growth. ■ Create Study Plans Create subjects and activities such as math, reading, practice, exercise, breaks, and free time. MiniStudyStep supports vacation plans, short intensive plans, term plans, and custom date ranges. Set weekly repetition rules, reminder times, planned duration, learning materials, and the first small step to take. ■ Flexible Study Timers Use open-ended time tracking or set a timer from 5 to 120 minutes. Timing continues while the app is in the background or the device is locked, with an optional notification when time is up. Studying for one minute records that the student started. It does not automatically mark the task as completed. ■ Record What Actually Happened After a study session, students can choose: • Completed the content • Time ended before completion • Too difficult • Need help • Postpone until later • Excused for today Students can also pause, resume, extend the session, reduce it to 10 minutes, or postpone it until later or the next day. An entire plan can be paused for 1, 3, or 7 days. Paused tasks do not automatically become overdue work. ■ Growth and Plan Records Growth Records preserve positive facts such as starting, voluntarily extending a session, asking for help, and completing a task. Plan Records objectively show planned time, actual study time, postponements, excused tasks, and reasons for difficulty. There are no penalties, rankings, streak resets, or punishment for unfinished work. ■ Suggestions for the Following Week MiniStudyStep uses the week’s actual records to provide understandable suggestions for adjusting future study time and content. These suggestions are generated by transparent rules, not generative AI. ■ Growth Puzzles Each plan can include a growth puzzle. The picture is gradually revealed through actual progress, helping students see their efforts accumulate over time. ■ Optional Family Features The basic features can be used locally without creating an account. With optional family features, an adult parent or legal guardian aged 18 or older can create a family. Students do not need an email account. They join using a family ID and a separate family password. Multiple students, parents, and devices are supported. Parents can view study summaries, difficulties, and suggestions for how to respond supportively. MiniStudyStep does not monitor whether students leave the app, which other apps they use, or whether they are focused. ■ Designed for Privacy and Safety • No advertising • No third-party behavioral analytics • No chat or public profiles • No interaction with strangers • No rankings, penalties, or streak pressure • No use of location, contacts, camera, or microphone • No access to the list of other installed apps Local data is stored with SQLite and can be exported as JSON. Only the data required for family features is synchronized when those features are used. MiniStudyStep supports English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese. Light mode, dark mode, reduced motion, and multiple color themes are available. Take one small step. Be honest when something is difficult. Ask for help when it is needed. MiniStudyStep records each of these moments as growth.
