Amazing App and better alternative to Anki

I hope this remains free with donations. The app is better than Anki, especially when considering the cost. I’ve used it every day since installing. The ability to choose between local and system vocalizations is awesome too, as it means Siri’s iOS updates may improve dictation over time, especially for foreign language cards. There are even features I don’t think exist within Anki.

I also appreciate the random tip notifications.

I’ve installed huge decks that seem to occasionally cause a small delay when initially calculating due cards, but that’s likely just what comes with 4k+ cards in a deck haha.

💚

anki remote

can i pair my anki remote with this app?

Response from developer

Not yet, grading still needs a tap or swipe. The one exception: in Audio Study mode, remotes and headsets that send standard media controls do work for play/pause and next/previous card. I've added remote support on the list. Thank you!

Amazing

This is an incredible app it’s helping me learn a lot and don’t have to pay whoever created it deserves eternal happiness

Response from developer

Thank you for the kind words, glad you're enjoying the app. All the best to you as well!

Can’t read Anki

Went from working to not working. Probably better to just buy the actual Anki app.

Response from developer

Could you share your specific Anki deck that doesn't work with support, we'd be happy to look into that specific issue. This is an isolated case, as Anki import / export works well for everyone else.

Doesn’t work

Won’t allow import of Anki decks, just shows some SQL error 11. Literally unusable since the last update.

Sync Is terrible

App overall is great but theres no way to manually trigger the syncing it seems it just syncs when it feels like it I followed all the troubleshooting provided with to no avail. I would rate 5 stars if I hadn’t had this issue as it completely ruins the point of this app for me

Response from developer

Thanks for the honest feedback, and sorry sync let you down, that's the one part of the app we're not proud of yet. A few things worth checking: same Apple ID + iCloud Drive enabled on all devices, and enough free iCloud storage (sync silently stalls when it's full). If that's already the case, please email us at support@mintdeck.app with your device models/iOS versions, and more details on when they sync fails. Inconsistent CloudKit behavior is hard to reproduce without specifics, and we'd rather fix your actual case than guess. Actively working on this.
