Fun Fantasy Walk with Frogs!
Any bugs that I’ve encountered have been fixed quickly, and I’ve already seen two updates roll out to solve problems. I had an issue with my widget not displaying my steps or streak, and contacted support. Nikolai got back to me so quickly, correcting the issue, and asking me if there was anything that could make the app better. An absolute delight to hear from!
You can only travel 1.3 miles (2.1 km) per day on the trail, but the app still shows you how far you’ve actually walked outside of those 1.3 miles per day. I love this cap, because it makes the journey longer and keeps me walking. You can unlock your extra steps to finish the trail faster by paying for premium, or by using Fireflies (in game currency) that you earn by reaching goals, completing quests, earning achievements, and more.
I honestly cannot say that I’ve ever seen an app like this. The art, the motivation, the ability to turn my friends into toads for 48 hours, and the fact that I love Lord of the Rings make this a near perfect experience for me. Response times and bug fixes are quick. This is truly a wonderful app, and I’m in awe of the creativity. I love it!

Hey, glad the widget fix landed and thanks for coming back with more than just the bug report. Turning friends into toads for 48 hours is still the one feature I have the hardest time explaining to new users with a straight face. Getting into Lord of the Rings at 11 and reviewing walking apps at 13 is a better track record than mine at that age. MistyWay is its own world, written by Alexander Veselov, but the itch it scratches is the same one, and there is a lot of road left on the trail. Nikolai Creator of MistyWay

Fidlerdev, фоновый подсчёт шагов на iOS идёт через HealthKit, MistyWay читает шаги оттуда, а не считает сама, поэтому если фон не работает, проверьте в Настройках iPhone доступ MistyWay к шагам в Здоровье. Two Days in and really like it
Two days in and it's pretty cool so far. I think the writing is done by AI because it's really similar to when I use AI to DM for my solo DnD games at home. Id like the writing to not have that AI style but it's not a deal breaker for me. I'll update my review in a few weeks when I've used it more.

Hi! Could you tell us through the in-app feedback which scene or passage felt AI-generated? The original story was written by Alexander Veselov, a human author, and the artwork was drawn by hand over about a year. We used AI only to help translate some languages, so we would like to check the exact text you noticed. We fixed the Firefly unlock bug in version 3.3.0. If you already have 3.3.0 and it happens again, please contact us through the app so we can investigate what happened to your Fireflies.

Unfortunate as this has real opportunity. However there’s better, comparable, options for free and/or substantially better monetisation schemes.

Every step is recorded, the 3,000 a day only caps how far the journey moves, and fireflies earned in the game unlock the waiting steps without paying. The whole story is free start to finish. Good news, your "completely free" version already exists. The full MistyWay story is free to play, no payment unlocks chapters or continues the journey. Premium is optional and only adds capabilities like removing your daily journey-progress cap. On the confusion, if the app made it feel like payment was required, that is on me and not on you. Good game but slight bother

Charlie, losing 200 to 400 steps on Premium is a bug I want to see with my own eyes. Email support@mistyway.app with your iPhone model, iOS version and a day when it happened, and I will compare what Health showed against what MistyWay counted. Nikolai Creator of MistyWay
Please remove the AI Slop
Paying a real artist to do a few quest illustrations *is* affordable, especially when you already are selling customization options.
Please consider removing the AI slop, I liked the app and I don’t want to have to stop using it.

Update since you wrote this. You said paying a real artist for a few quest illustrations was affordable, and you were right. The quest art is drawn by hand now, by Zaruhi Shamiryan, who draws and refines every scene, and the generated images are gone. Thank you for saying it plainly enough that I could not argue with it. Обидно, но методы оплаты определяет Apple, а не приложение. Обходной путь есть, друг может подарить тебе год Premium. Вы оба должны быть друзьями в MistyWay, дальше он открывает твой профиль, жмёт Gift Premium и платит через свой App Store. Подарок не продлевается автоматически. Outta that paycheck then someone might b nice and show some support if you need it. Anyway deleted almost the second I opened it bc it was greedier than the reviews could describe.WHATTA SHAME, greed literally Rollins everyone and everything. Thank you for saying the pricing part plainly, and for the design compliment underneath it. Subscription fatigue is real and I take the point. What exists today is this, MistyWay stays usable without paying, and one friend can gift another a year of Premium as a single purchase with no auto-renewal on the receiving side. 1. Постоянно вылетает аккаунт и подлагивает (прогресс не сбивается, но все равно очень бесит перезаходить по несколько раз)
2. Ограничений в 3000 шагов в бесплатной версии. Увы, купить подписку из рф не смогла (искать другие способы пополнения - тоже), а ограничения в 3к… ну капец, что-нибудь бы другое ограничили, вместо шагов
А так, очень крутой проект, дешевая подписка, красивые локации, возможность создать виджет. В целом мотивирует больше двигаться и постоянно открывать приложение, чтобы посмотреть, как продвигается персонаж xD
К сожалению удалила и вернулась к конкурентам, так как второй минус оказался самым существенным
Проекту и авторам желаю дальнейшего развития! Надеюсь вернуться к вам позже

Arrrg3nt, вылеты из аккаунта это баг, а не особенность, если вернётесь, напишите на support@mistyway.app версию приложения, посмотрю по аккаунту. По лимиту 3000, все шаги записываются, а ждущие шаги открываются светлячками, которые зарабатываются в игре, без подписки. Оплату из РФ решает Apple, но друг может подарить год Premium со своего App Store. Nikolai Создатель MistyWay

Hey Jema3ee, thank you for the honest version, that is what I need to hear. One correction to what I told you earlier, there is no monthly plan. What exists is weekly, yearly, and Friends & Family, which puts four seats on one yearly subscription and is the cheapest per person when you have people to share it with. On the free cap, 3k is conservative, and the tension between enough to feel the app and keeping the lights on as a solo developer is something I am still working through. Fireflies also unlock waiting steps without any subscription at all. Nikolai Creator of MistyWay
