LOCKED without paying

you can’t even use the app or browse anything on there without subscribing. you don’t even know what you’re paying for. this is so shady

Best healthy recipes

Just makes healthy cooking every week so simple because it works every time

Missing Meal Plannner

The recipes, shopping list feature, and general minimalist layout are all fantastic. The ability to swap out ingredients with the suggested alternatives is a great idea and so convenient.

However, the lack of actual meal planning assistance is a real letdown. A calendar where you can organise your weekly meals and allocate certain days to cook and plan your week ahead is missing. I believe the website (not the app) has a “planner” where you can drag what daily meal you want over the period of one week, but it’s not very helpful.

This app is great for simple, healthy recipes, however for the price I’d expect more in terms of managing and planing your diet. Is overpriced for what you get.

Zero stars

I’d give this company zero stars if that option was available.

Free only at 7 day trial

Heads up- there’s no permanent free version

Opportunity for improvement

I like the concept and bought in for clarity on the macros. I would really like more guidance on the app. The ability to convert between imperial and metric ingredients measures. Clearer guidance on nutrition and macros - is it per serving or the whole recipe?

Could do with some tweaks

I really like a lot of the recipes, but the nutrition filtering needs improving. I was looking for high-protein, high-fibre meals around 500 kcal, and combining those filters returned zero recipes. Yet when I manually browsed I found recipes with 50 g+ protein. It seems the filters don’t reflect the nutrition database very well. One of the main reasons I wanted to try this app is to reduce decision fatigue and make meal planning easier. It would be fantastic if users could set target ranges for calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat and fibre (for example, 40–60 g protein and 450–550 kcal) and have recipes ranked by how closely they match. That would make the app much more useful for anyone tracking nutrition, wanting to manage and log macros or trying to reduce meal-planning overwhelm

It’s not all knowing. BUT!

It’s not all knowing. And that’s okay. This app feels like you’re grandma’s secret cookbook. It’s helped to fan my already curious flame of home cooking meals. I used ingredients that I never thought I would to create some hella good meals for myself and others . Also learning what can go together. To make a bold meal that’s always in rotation. It’s not all knowing but that’s okay; it may not have the ingredient you are looking to use in the meal as a base. But I do believe it looks past the basic. With the latest update to have built-in alternative ingredients is a god send. Love that it builds a grocery list. Adjust for the size of servings so you may get some leftovers. I encouraged you to hold off on the Grub Hub and enjoy time in the kitchen. This app will be your secret weapon.

Beware of signing up via App Store

Signed up through the App Store subscription. Wanted to just try it out so cancelled the subscription immediately so I didn’t forgot to do it before the trial was over via my App Store subscriptions. 5 days later I had a charge on my card straight from MOB themselves. Logged into the account on a browser and my trial was still active there even after cancelling through my active Apple subscriptions just a rip off.

Interesting recipes

Provides much choice and very user friendly to follow

Great app, delicious recipes

Only complaint is that the serving adjuster does not work correctly.

From Never Cooking to Hosting Dinner

I pretty much cook exclusively with MOB now, which is something I never thought I’d say because I genuinely never used to cook. I was becoming really frustrated with eating badly, having no pleasure in meals at home, and relying on food outside that was often too salty or too heavy.
MOB has honestly been a small revolution for me: I now cook each recipe for three or four people and batch it into several meals for the week.
Some ingredients, especially certain oils or spices, can be difficult to find near me, so I sometimes substitute them or even shop elsewhere (which shows a real shift).
But overall, it has completely changed the way I eat: I feel much better, and I now genuinely enjoy eating at home.
The next step is actually inviting people over for dinner..! 😅 and honestly, give me another 3 or 4 recipes and I’ll be there.
Thank you, this is a fantastic app, and the value for money is truly exceptional.

Money grab

Downloaded it cause I saw all the ads on social media was hoping it would help. Asked to create free account did that but as soon as you hit continue you hit a paywall that has no option to continue for free

Sold as healthy meals, only 81 low fat meals

Not as healthy as they claim to be. Recipes are high sugar, high fat and low in vegetables. Good if you eat out every day, not good if you know a bit about nutrition and how to put together a low fat, high protein meal already.

Just signed for the free week

All I can see it a grey screen after I signed in. I have deleted, reinstalled twice … still only a grey screen

Billed for the year as soon I signed up for the 7 day trial - Edit: (getting refunded)

Don’t sign up with this app unless you’re happy to have your bank account dipped into without your consent. Signed up for a 7 day trial and they instantly billed me. Nothing at checkout to say I was being billed, no email or communication to advise they had taken money from me or even to confirm my account was set up. Just dipped into my account. I went on the website to cancel today as it doesn’t suit me and realised what they have done. I’m waiting to hear from customer service before I dispute it with my credit card. So disgusted that they con people like this.

Edit: I have spoken with customer service who have advised I will be getting a refund.

Impossible to cancel free trial

I tried to cancel via the website (doesn't allow this in the app), but the links weren't working. I emailed them ahead of the deadline but was still charged for the year. I have emailed subsequently to complain but all
Emails are ignored.

Wants money up front before showing you anything

I couldn't get started with this app. It wants you to pay for a subscription before even showing you what it can do. I've no problem paying for a good service but I need more than promises to go on.

Useless

Recipes are mediocre and other functionality isn’t helpful. Don’t waste your money.
