Really good App it’s free and I honestly would recommend
Great, but could be better
No ads (yay!), although you need to pay for premium to be able to do every lesson (like the writing ones, which I sadly don’t have money for). Overall, great app. It teaches the basic letters of hiragana and also some basic words and vocabulary too.

I tried Duolingo to learn kanji a while back and it took me way longer to understand with their way they set up their lessons

Multiple server timeouts every session
The app is frustrating to use. It times out multiple times a session when updating their golden time (SRS), fetching audio will fail so some drills will just have no audio, or a lesson won’t load. I would give it 1 star, but it is a great app hindered by simple error recovery that could be fixed.
