Pretty good...but.

First, I’d like to say I am glad to see these games in tablet form. I have seen the PC versions for years, but don’t own a PC.

Obviously this is scaled down some from the PC version, but there are some upgrades I would like to suggest.

1st, the modern campaigns seems to be calculating weapons effects using the same mechanics as the WWII based games. Example, a Battalion of M1 Abrams fighting on a Battalion of T55s should kill at least half of the T55s in almost every scenario on the first engagement. Or a Group of A10s attacking a battalion of BTRs should get similar results. But VERY rarely do I see more than one or two vehicles destroyed in these types of scenarios. Nuclear and Chem effects seem to be very underwhelming as well. So it feels like modern weaponry lethality isn’t correct across the game.

2nd I’d like to see each scenario playable from both sides....or even better playable with someone online. Also more interplay between scenarios. Example. It would be lots of fun to take the same unit through multiple scenarios, and see how one deals with a campaign with said unit.

3rd, I would like to see more modern campaigns for tablets. A desert Storm or March on Baghdad, (Or Iraqi attack’s into Saudi before the 1990 build up was complete) Korea in 2019, NATO vs Russia over the Baltic’s 2022. Stuff like that.

I would pay $5 or even $10 or more just for these types of upgrades.

Not a bad game (the Fulda Scenario) is one of my all time favorites (oddly this dealt more with VII Corps AO than V Corp who actually had the Fulda Gap if I remember right). But fun to play. I would give the same review to North German Plain, which I also have bought.

Improvements Needed !

Come on folks ! Another release with no evolution or improvements? A ton of other (inferior) game systems can accommodate named saved files so that a point in time snap shot can be used as a jump point where various strategies can be tested. What about being able to play either side in a scenario? What about pass and play? None of these would push the limit of current Gen mobile devices.

Can Hexwar do this and not JTS?

Can't justify the cost against the effort? Charge more. I would easily pay $10 for those features. We don't need graphical improvements or other glitz. We are war gamers not Clash of Clans bubble gum cracking adrenaline junkies ....

PC and MC games are amongst my favorites - but please .... Upgrade your offerings just a bit and I'll continue buying.
