Broke + Bugs
This is the baddest app for esim plans the plan never gets installed they send 3times the same broken QR to email and the say the money is not refundable. Don't waste your time in this.
It works!
I decided to try this out with the cheapest plan - $4 for 1gb in US/Canada/EU. Payment options kept failing until I finally succeeded with the Apple Pay/Mastercard. Amex and Visa didn’t work.
After the purchase, esim install was very easy. I took out my Verizon sim and - no data. Turns out “data roaming” setting needs to be on. It’s off by default and there are no hints about this on the app or website.
Once I got it working, it connected to T-Mobile and I got 5-6 Mbps which is very reasonable for T-Mobile in my area (North Jersey).
The interesting find was that my IP address was Amazon Web Services in Ireland. That means all traffic gets routed through Ireland. That’s not a problem for most uses but Netflix and alike may limit the selection to that region.
The app is extremely overloaded with weather reports, currency converters, ads, plane ticket and vacation finders etc. It really took some effort to find my plan and data usage. It’s in account, my devices.
Overall - pretty impressive for the price, despite some inconveniences. This will be my choice when traveling to Canada instead of paying Verizon ridiculous “day pass” fees.
