Bait and switch
Developer decided to retire this app after selling a lifetime subscription offering. Very upset.
Bug fix version upgrade, Explore stops working
Delete and reinstall fails in same way. Likewise on iPad and macOS, even with iCloud sync settings off. Coincidence? Call me skeptical given that paid users are being forced to pay again for version 7. Fool me twice? This user will find an alternative instead. Sad; I liked Mona and was an early paid user but this reeks of sleaze

Last perpetually licensed version
Enjoy what for a while was the best fedi client around, while the author is kind enough to still support it. This app is great but the next major version is already available and now subscription only (to new subs).
Bait & Switch
I would have rated this app pretty highly, but the developer has shunted all the lifetime paying users into “Mona Classic” so they can get new paying users for updates to a new app, Mona 7. Mona 7 is literally the same app with continuing updates. This is a lousy bait and switch tactic.
OK, Some Bugs and Inconsistencies
Overall it’s just OK. Not worth the asking price. There’s a longstanding bug that completely locks the UI up after viewing a full screen photo. This is random and doesn’t happen all the time but when it happens, it requires a relaunch, or backgrounding.
Also the replies to some posts just don’t load, even if I choose to “Load from Remote Server.” The count is correct but the replies don’t load. Toot! works, so it should work here, also.
The app doesn’t use some of the server-provided/enabled features. For example, the private notes and mute/block lists are app-only, while the server has support. This means that if I add some note to an account, I can only see it in this app. Or if I mute someone, they’re only muted here.
And of course it’s now abandonware, as the developer has a new version that has switched to being an extractive, ie rental/subscription, service. So there’s no guarantee or promise that any of these issues will be addressed. Who’s to say that the developer won’t pull the same thing again with the new version?
