For beginners it would be helpful if new vocabulary presented nouns with their indefinite articles. This would further facilitate quicker uptake.

Please fix past/present/future pop-up and add feature
Fix this and I’ll give you a 4: when you tap a word to see its grammar breakdown, the tense selector defaults to “Present,” but the example text shown is actually past tense — the label doesn’t match the content. Add this and I’ll give you a 5: on-demand AI grammar lessons, so there’s always an AI tutor available to explain the “why” behind things, not just show examples. Like why certain endings exist — in Spanish, “-ían” endings work like “-ing” does in English for ongoing past actions — or why you can drop “nosotros” since the “-mos” ending already means “we.” Basically, let users ask about any grammar point they’re curious about and get a real explanation, not just more drills.

Disappointed, if you are a women you will make an idiot of yourself- Mondly uses masculine forms
I thought for a day that I found a decent app that will actually teach me words and phrases, till I realised it’s all masculine forms, you have to click on verbs and see conjugation. By the time you finish , you feel distracted and lose focus.
So disappointing 😕
I went through all apps they all are designed to teach you nothing! Mondly stood out to me till I realised I don’t even know feminine variations and I speak as a man and sound like an idiot !

Muy dinámica para romper el hielo con un idioma, pero se queda corta en nivel avanzado
Llevo unas cuantas semanas usando Mondly para repasar mi inglés y empezar desde cero con el inglés, y la verdad es que la aplicación me ha dejado buenas impresiones, aunque con sus matices.
I enjoy this app but
I get frustrated when I get an answer wrong and then can't fix it. I just want to learn, not feel bad about myself.
Also, some of the Japanese words that are used are not commonly used in casual conversations. Like when you are talking about yourself you don't have to start the sentence with watashiwa. Also, starting a sentence with "anatawa", I've read, is viewed as cold, or even rude. Another word that gets used in the app that probably shouldn't be is chiketto (ticket). I've studied Japanese for a while now and I've never heard that word used before. I've only heard the word "kippu" as the Japanese word to use for "ticket". Other than the above, I do enjoy using this app.
9/2/26: I think it's ridiculous that I can get answers in English wrong. You have to fix that. The answer I chose was "I find homework stimulating." The "correct" answer was "I find homework to be stimulating." Give me a break. Both sentences mean the same thing. In fact, mine would be considered better by my high school English teachers because it is a more efficient sentence.

Frustrating at times
The app seems okay, I like that it offers many languages. The lessons are all over the place and could be better organized and more flexible. Mondly could also easily offer lesson plans based on the users goal. I am learning for travel yet I end up sifting through unrelated and generally unhelpful content. Having focused learning plans seems like it would be pretty easy and would make the app so much better.
The app is frustrating at times with its speech recognition, or lack of. I’ve recorded the app saying a word and played the recorded back and the app won’t recognize the word. The deeper I get the more I run into words the AI simply won’t pick up on. This wastes time and is frustrating.
There is also a real lack of conversational content that’s not scripted. I’ve downloaded a second app for that.

Wrong language
I’m trying to do Ukrainian lessons but it keeps teaching me Russian words?! I know enough to be able to tell the difference thankfully but they’re two different languages and shouldn’t be mixed up at all!!!
Easy to use but not sure of the practicality of the lessons
I've used a few lessons and find it very engaging. I am brushing up on modern Greek and found that the lessons are focused on phrases and topics that aren't practical on a day-to-day basis. I need to find my hotel order something at the restaurant find a bathroom get on a taxi. I don't need to tell somebody I'm interested in architecture.

Very Fun!!
The bottom line is…I got this wanting to learn Spanish. And after 3 years, I only remember 2 things, hola, and adios. This app teaches you nothing! It stinks! I’ve started using Duolingo, and it is so much better! And it’s free! I’ve learned so much more from it! Whatever you do… NOT EVER BUY OR USE MONDLY! It’s a. Complete waste of your time and money!
