Finally MonkeyMote supports MediaMonkey5!
This allowed me to upgrade to MM5, which I wanted to do because it supports dsf files.
But I have noticed two glitches on the part of MonkeyMote:
1. The “year” info of each tune in the tag doesn’t seem to be conveyed. It isn’t displayed in the media details popup nor in the playlist as it appeared with MM4.
2. Some, not all, album arts in dsf files don’t show. They do appear in the MediaMonkey screen on Windows so they are definitely there in the file but they don’t show up on the MonkeyMote screen on iPhone. However, they do show up for some dsf files.
I suppose these are plug-in problems, as the ios app itself is the same.
Hope they will be remedied soon!

Finally a solution
Because I'm on iOS, I can't find maby solutions for a remote to use with winamp. This is worth the $1.99 price tag if you're on iOS.
Works like 10% of the time
No idea why it's so inconsistent in connecting to my PC but it's really frustrating. Port's open, firewall allows connections on the network, MM open, and plugin's installed so I've done what I need to do, and it has connected a few times, but it gives me a generic error and won't connect 90% of the time. Not worth the time and frustration

Does not work with JRiver on Mac.
This app requires a plugin for JRiver media centre to be installed for it to work. That plugin is only provided for windows platforms.

Connection problem
My PC and cellphone are on the same WiFi network. It can never detect my PC.
Wished it worked
But alas no. Too complicated to set up. Couldn't get it to function. Was sent to a bunch of adjustements to my system that were complex and too long. Maybe it will resolve someday and I'll return to this.

Не читает имена файлов. Тэги не везде заполнены правильно. В плейлисте одни вопросы вместо названий. По факту пользоваться невозможно.
No longer works with MM 5
Bought the app and it worked well with Media Monkey 4. Now it no longer works with the new version 5. Shame.

неплохо, но есть замечания
Управление и информация работают хорошо, но при загрузке всех плейлистов JRiver намертво повисает (видимо, плагин криво отрабатывает загрузку плейлистов).
Так же было бы неплохо сделать режим горизонтальной ориентации (телефон стоит на подставке с включённым экраном и хотелось бы его перевернуть и подключить к питанию. или, например, горизонтально обложка и текст на экране, без переключения).

I was waiting my whole life for something like this.
Doesn’t work
This app flat out doesn’t work. Two dollars wasted trying to put music on my iPhone X. Don’t waste your $2. Yes, I tried every suggestion they made “click here”, etc. Nothing!
