About

A to-do app that just gets out of your way. MonoList is lists and tasks. Nothing to learn, nothing to set up first. Write your list, tick things off, done. No account, no sign-up, no ads, no subscription. EVERYTHING IS FREE There is no Pro version. No paid tier, no trial that runs out, no feature waiting behind a paywall, and no limit on how many lists or tasks you create. If MonoList becomes useful to you, you can leave a voluntary tip in the app. That is the entire business model. Nothing in the app changes if you do. You simply keep an independent app alive. WHAT YOU CAN DO → Create as many lists as you like, each with its own icon → Add tasks, tick them off, and hide the completed ones when they get in the way → Give a task a note when the title alone isn't enough → Set a reminder and get a notification when it's due → Drag tasks and lists into the order that makes sense to you → Swipe a task to edit or delete it YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR IPHONE No account. No MonoList server. No tracking, no analytics, nothing shared with anyone. Your lists live in a local database on your device and nowhere else. That also means the backup is yours to control: - Export your data as an open JSON file at any time. It's yours, take it anywhere - Or export it encrypted with a passphrase only you know, so a backup can be stored or handed on without anyone reading it - Turn on automatic backups and MonoList writes an encrypted copy once a day in the background, to your iPhone or to your iCloud Drive - Restoring replaces everything on the device with the backup, and shows you what it will delete and add before it does anything MAKE IT YOURS 14 colour themes in seven families: Standard, Summer, Forest, Sea, PixelCraft, Tropical and Rainbow, each in a light and a dark version. Pick one, or let the app follow your system appearance and switch with it. LOCK IT IF YOU WANT Turn on App Lock and MonoList asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode before showing your lists, on launch and every time you come back from another app. It stays off unless you turn it on. WORKS OFFLINE There is nothing to sync, so there is nothing to wait for. MonoList needs no internet connection to do its job. WHO IS MONOLIST FOR? → You want a to-do list, not a productivity system → You've had enough of apps that ask you to sign up before showing you anything → You don't want your shopping list on someone else's server → You've hit a paywall in a to-do app once too often → You like an app that looks the way you want it to English and German. Made in Austria. No ads, no tricks.

What's New in MonoList

2.0.0

August 5, 2026

MonoList 2.0 is the biggest update since the first version. The app was rebuilt on a current platform, and it finally has what 1.x was missing. BACKUPS IN YOUR HANDS You can now export your data encrypted with a passphrase only you know, next to the open JSON export that was already there. Or you turn on automatic backups, and MonoList writes one encrypted copy a day in the background, to your iPhone or to your iCloud Drive. Restoring replaces everything on the device, and it shows you what it will delete and add before it does anything. APP LOCK MonoList can ask for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode before your lists appear, on launch and every time you come back from another app. It stays off unless you turn it on. A NEW LOOK New app icon, new start screen and a new accent colour. All 14 themes were recoloured and checked so the text stays readable in every one of them. The app can now follow your system appearance as well and switch between light and dark with it. Headers and transitions are native, the layout uses the whole screen, and large system font sizes no longer break it. FIXED The order you drag your lists and tasks into is finally kept. Reminders survive restoring a backup, and notifications left behind by deleted tasks get cleaned up. Task details no longer lose text you typed while it was saving. Support tips go through reliably again. Still no subscription, no ads, no account and nothing behind a paywall.
