About

A mood diary that takes five seconds and stays on your phone. MonoMood is one mood a day, on a simple 1–5 scale, with an optional note and tags. No account, no sign-up, no ads, no subscription. Nothing to configure before your first entry. NO SUBSCRIPTION, NO PAYWALL There is no Pro version. No paid tier, no trial that runs out, no feature waiting behind a paywall, and no limit on how many entries you keep. If MonoMood becomes useful to you, you can leave a voluntary tip in the app. That is the entire business model. Nothing in the app changes if you do. You simply keep an independent app alive. WHAT YOU CAN DO → Log a mood from 1 to 5 in seconds, once a day → Add a note when a number alone doesn't say enough → Tag an entry: work, sleep, family, whatever matters to you → Look back at any day on a calendar, colour-coded by mood → See your tags broken down in Statistics, so you notice what actually moves your mood → Get a daily reminder at a time you choose, so a busy day doesn't mean a missed entry YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR IPHONE No account. No MonoMood server. No tracking, no analytics. Your entries live in a local database on your device, and stay there unless you choose to back them up yourself: - Export your data as an open CSV file at any time. It's yours, take it anywhere - Or export it encrypted with a passphrase only you know, so a backup can be stored or handed on without anyone reading it - Turn on automatic backups and MonoMood writes an encrypted copy once a day in the background, to your iPhone or to your iCloud Drive - Restoring merges the backup into what's already on the device by date. It never wipes your diary to do it MAKE IT YOURS 14 colour themes in seven families: Standard, Summer, Forest, Sea, PixelCraft, Tropical and Rainbow, each in a light and a dark version. Pick one, or let the app follow your system appearance and switch with it. LOCK IT IF YOU WANT Turn on App Lock and MonoMood asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode before showing your diary, on launch and every time you come back from another app. It stays off unless you turn it on. WORKS OFFLINE There is nothing to sync, so there is nothing to wait for. MonoMood needs no internet connection to do its job. WHO IS MONOMOOD FOR? → You want a quick daily check-in, not a full journaling app → You've had enough of wellbeing apps that ask for an account before showing you anything → You don't want your mood history on someone else's server → You want to notice your own patterns, not read someone else's advice → You like an app that looks the way you want it to English and German. Made in Austria. No ads, no tricks.

What's New in MonoMood

2.0.0

August 25, 2026

MonoMood 2.0 is the biggest update since the first version. The app was rebuilt on a current platform, and it finally has what 1.x was missing. BACKUPS IN YOUR HANDS You can now export your diary encrypted with a passphrase only you know, next to the open CSV export that was already there. Or you turn on automatic backups, and MonoMood writes one encrypted copy a day in the background, to your iPhone or to your iCloud Drive. Restoring merges the backup into what's already on the device by date, it never wipes your diary to do it. APP LOCK MonoMood can ask for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode before your diary appears, on launch and every time you come back from another app. It stays off unless you turn it on. A NEW LOOK New app icon and refreshed theme colours across all 14 themes, checked so the text stays readable in every one of them. Headers and tab bar are native, the layout uses the whole screen, and large system font sizes no longer break it. FIXED Restoring a backup now shows an error instead of silently doing nothing if it fails, and updates History and Statistics right away instead of only after a reload. CSV imports keep multiline notes and comma-containing tags intact. Support tips no longer show a raw error code when something goes wrong. Still no subscription, no ads, no account and nothing behind a paywall.
