Decode Morse from sound or flashing light. MorseScope is an offline Morse toolkit for iPhone and iPad. Turn audio, light, and written dots and dashes into text, then build your receiving and sending skills. AUDIO AND WRITTEN MORSE • Decode live microphone audio with automatic carrier and timing estimates, key state, speed, level, and confidence. • Import WAV, MP3, M4A, or AAC; try the built-in sample or translate written Morse. • Play recordings with time-aligned text. Inspect each character's original Morse, confidence, and time; jump to uncertain characters, correct a position, or restore the original. • Decoder Pro adds 1–8× synchronized spectrograms, carrier focus, timing-supported alternatives, carrier tuning, WPM lock, sensitivity, and filtering. Review the bounded ten-second live waterfall after listening stops. • Keep audio-decoding results in the local Session Library. Source audio and graph data are not saved there. Light-decoding results stay in memory only. LIGHT DECODER Point the rear camera at one flashing screen or flashlight. Move the generous target by touch or accessible controls, allow the signal to calibrate, and follow live Morse and text. Copy the result when finished. Start at 5–7 WPM with a steady phone and a clear source. Lighting, distance, movement, display flicker, and camera timing affect reception. This is for learning and short messages, not emergencies. Camera permission is requested only on Start Camera; no images or video are saved or uploaded. ENCODE AND SEND Turn text into International Morse, play or copy it, and export WAV/M4A audio. Send visible Morse through Screen Flash or the rear Flashlight at up to 7 WPM, without a 60-second cutoff. Haptic output supports transmissions up to 60 seconds. Stop visible output if it causes discomfort. PRACTICE AT YOUR PACE Learn with beginner lessons, Koch character groups, Farnsworth spacing, daily drills, and saved progress. Build custom receive drills and WPM ladders. Practice callsigns, prosigns, Q-codes, QSO exchanges, and sending rhythm with an adaptive CW key. FREE AND PREMIUM Free includes text conversion, beginner and Koch learning, daily practice, selected-character drills, the Send key, Callsigns, and character correction/restore. Free audio playback supports 60 seconds per transmission. Microphone and light decoding allow 30 seconds per session after the first signal lock; later signal loss does not pause that allowance. Free imported files may be up to 30 seconds. Start another free live session whenever you wish. Premium unlocks longer audio playback and decoding, light decoding without a session time limit, WAV/M4A export, Decoder Pro, the complete Session Library, advanced coaching and history, Guided Sending, signal conditions, saved custom presets, and WPM ladders. Both unlock the same Premium features; current localized prices appear in the app. PRACTICAL LIMITS Use a clear 300–2,000 Hz audio carrier. Imports support common uncompressed mono/stereo PCM WAV, MP3, and unprotected AAC in M4A or ADTS; protected audio and ALAC are unsupported. Imported files are limited to 10 minutes/128 MB; audio playback and export to 8 minutes. Camera capture runs in the foreground and stops for interruptions, frame stalls, or excessive heat, including with Premium. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Core processing stays on your device. No account, ads, tracking, or analytics. Microphone samples stay in bounded memory and are discarded on Stop. Network access is used for App Store purchases and subscription management.
