Impossible to login

I used this app for probably 8 years while I was in Nyc, via an email login. In their infinite wisdom, the 22-year-old clowns (who have never had an email their whole lives and only have a cell phone number) deleted absolutely everyone’s account that was based on an email. And now make you waste 25 minutes of your life starting a new account with a cell phone #. The pathological idiocy of these pathetic Gen Z troglodytes running this company is worthy of a class action lawsuit. Fire them all. 👎

bad surcharge

do not use the app just buy the tickets in person

location

i know this is my fault but this app should really know my location and auto select the closest station to be the departure point. i CONSTANTLY miss trains because i forget to invert the stations i am leaving from and arriving to.

Almost as worthless the MTA

Activating a ticket and having it scanned by a conductor within 2 mins automatically flags you as trying to dodge the fare. Can’t contact customer support via the app either, only garbage AI and automated responses telling you to use the website. Almost as worthless as the MTA as a whole.

SCAMMERS

better off buying paper tickets

Surcharge Policies are a product of poor design

The new policies with surcharges and activating are silly and just a poor consumer experience. Already looking into greater steps but the “warnings” to activate before you board vs the concerns from consumers to do so in fear it won’t be checked on time or a glitch may occur are real. The MTA needs a better path forward that is better thought out.

Can’t share ticket

Be warned that you cannot share a ticket with anyone else from this app. Bought a ticket for my daughter and was unable to share it with her so she had to purchase another one on train. And couldn’t get a refund for my initial purchase either, because I had activated it already. Used countless other transportation apps and this is the only time I’ve had this issue. Pathetic money grab.

Very helpful, no issues

This app is easy to use and has a pleasant appearance. Everything loads easily. Things like the day pass ticket are well explained. It is very helpful that you can see a layout of the train. It’s also helpful that the full schedules are linked in the settings

This app is the worst

I wish I had another digital alternative to this app. I am constantly getting hit with surcharges, even though I am purchasing tickets. It is not right! The chat feature is completely unhelpful and there is no one to talk to about functionality or being wrongfully penalized. Do better LIRR!

Why is app only allowing you to buy a ticket on the day you're going to use it?

I can understand not allowing you to buy a ticket a week or month in advance, but why can't you buy a ticket for tomorrow or two days in advance? This is wrong and should be resolved ASAP

$8 surcharge for using the app incorrectly

The title says it all. You will get the same email warning I did. I always buy paper tickets from the machine now.

Great app

The team at MTA really knows what they are doing with software. Their apps are easy to use and full of relevant information. And the information is thoughtfully laid out with details like arrows indicating train directions or times of connecting trains.

Stupid app

App shuts down after I click on wallet and I hate everything about these greedy people

Surcharge Policy

Being charged $8 for activating my ticket right before getting it scanned shouldn’t be a thing especially if it’s proven that it’s not a scam/fraudulent activity. This is another weak money grab attempt to get more money out of hard working civilians. It’s just not right.

Very funky policies

You can only purchase 1 ticket in 15 mins to credit towards rewards program. If you purchase multiple, it will not credit it. It is forcing you to purchase right before you ride.

Out raged

So they hack the fare up and you would think Ohok after a certain amount of rides you get a free tick. Your ticket doesn’t last long. It’s a rip
Off especially when you don’t have to be back to work within the 13hrs they give you to use it.The free ticket should at least expire after 48 hrs

Surcharge for following policy

I always buy and activate my ticket before boarding the train, exactly like the app tells you to do. Despite that, the app is now forcing me to pay an $8 “on-board surcharge” before I can buy another ticket. This feels completely unfair and impossible to dispute in the moment, especially when I’m actively trying to follow the rules. If a rider purchases and activates their ticket properly, they should not be punished with random extra fees. This comes across as a cash grab and makes the app feel unreliable.

MTA is hostile to commuters

Don’t fret, the LIRR is here to make sure the bookends of your day are terrible!

Be aware

Check your travel plans early. Your device can get banned with no warning or notification.

Also be aware of double purchases. Charging twice isn’t nice, but I’ve had it happen!
