Needs more work but happy to see it exists

The character bar (the one that you can select to give easy access to frequently used characters) causes my app to freeze as soon as I try to use it. It would also be nice if the screen scrolled automatically to the bottom on login or that this could at least be an option.

Perhaps some improvements.

Really the only thing it's missing is the ability to click links. Like email addresses or webpages, YouTube links so if you want to sign up for a mud you can touch to open it, or if someone whispers you a guide on the internet, etc.. Also auto-scroll on new text seems to be broken. It's often hidden under the text input bar so you have to manually scroll down, and sometimes that doesnt help either so you have to wait for a few more lines to hit the buffer so you can read it. Really awesome and on the right track tho.

Connections

Can't make multiple connections to the same world, in the old one you could. Still crashes when put to background

Thanks for checking out MUDBasher! This should be fixed with the latest version

nearly flawless execution.

i'll be honest, there are a few important bugs... then again the app is still young. voiceover isn't reading the screen automatically anymore, plus the world order when you add a world is screwed up, and to delete a world you have to delete it twice... but other than that, the layout is there. just try to get the bugs ironed out quickly (mostly when it comes to accessibility and the interface.

Great improvement

Better scripting etc. and a marked improvement from MUDrammer. Only issue is that word wrap cuts up words so it's a little awkward for wordier MUDs.

Only game in town

Unfortunately, seems to be riddled with bugs.

Aliases, for example, seem to just straight up not work at all.

Editing the radial control requires an app restart to take effect.

It seems great so far

Took a bit to find word wrap though

Aliases do not work

Update:

It is now working on a standard phone. The text looks to be optimized for mobile now.

Work wrap also works now

However, Aliases are broken.

Aliases do not work….at all….if someone can help me fix this it would be a 5 star review. Everything else is fine. There are even variables ($) with triggers!

Did the last update bork the Aliases function?

Better layout, but still needs work

From the voiceover perspective, MUDBasher has a much better layout than MUDRammer. Everything is more readable and I have had a much better time navigating. It does still need some improvements, in addition to the Wong bug I noticed from the little I've yet used it with the sound pop-up in triggers not working. Besides that, my main concern is the glitch which is carried over from MUDRammer with voiceover occasionally jumping around in the output when it is scrolling. This does not happen all the time, but often enough to be annoying. This app definitely has great potential and I hope it continues to improve.
Issues with the interface that I've noticed (purely from a voiceover perspective):
• When adding/editing triggers, there is a bug with the matching menu. I only tried two of the options, both of which gave different yet faulty results. If I tried to change the matching to regular expression, upon saving and going back in I found that it reset back to the default option. If I chose the option for matching at the beginning of the line, it would save correctly, but I tested the trigger on a line that contained but didn't start with the pattern I'd used and it still matched.
• in settings, there is an item called "Text to speech using VoiceOver" which does not appear to be toggle or give any indication of doing anything.
• the last issue I've noticed which also carried over from MUDRammer is the output when there is no scroll bar visible. As a voiceover user, I use the scroll bar to quickly navigate to the end of the output, which is not possible when it does not exist. If there is any way to add a widget that will mark the end of output for voiceover users, that would be extremely useful for me.

Sound bug and triggers

I like the app but I have discovered a sound bug in the trigger settings. When I click the pop-up button that says select sound, it doesn’t bring up a window with all the sounds and so the only sound you get is the sound that used to be used for announcements on some games.

Good Idea, Faulty Execution

Very few of these features work or are functional at all. Most of them are purely cosmetic; the controls or settings affect nothing. How can this be using MUDRammer's backbone and have so many basic features that functioned just fine in MUDRammer turn out so broken here?

• Word wrap does nothing. Client is still unreadable on a standard phone screen. Text still runs off the right side of the screen and is therefore illegible.

• Connectivity still drops the instant the user switches focus out of the app, despite claims it's fixed in another review-comment.

• Display features (font typeface, font size, colors/themes) intermittently fail to set or reset themselves.

• Putting text in the input buffer causes the entirety of the output buffer to rearrange itself, making BOTH buffers illegible.

• Dismissed radial controls still try to crowd back in.

This is not a complete list of broken things; it's just a few features I know aren't working off the top of my head. I'll add any others I find later. Is there a better place to submit bug reports, or is this the most likely to have eyes on it?

My dude. Please test your releases before you release them. Make sure your features are actually working before declaring them fixed. We all really want to support this client, we do, there are no alternatives; but it's really difficult to use it in its current state. Some folks can't even use it at all. :(

Even worse

Unsure if the developer actually tests before updating. As of 2.8.3 it STILL disconnects if you switch apps, and now it cuts off text if it's wider than your device, meaning if someone sends you a long message it's impossible to read.

Lots of potential

Glad to see it back! Can’t wait to have themes working, connectivity sticking & a larger text input screen (please make the size customizable so I can actually RP) but I’m so so glad to have anything I can use to connect at all.

Promising but needs a lot of work

App still disconnects from servers on app switch with the newest version as of 2.6. Message entry area grows horizontally with text, making the entire app expand past the sides of the screen, so you can't read any of the output until you send your message and it snaps back to screen width again.

Nice start, please add…

I loved MudRammer. Please add (1) Hidden Worlds - hiddenworlds.com 4040 (2) autologin (3) formatting for vertical display on iPhone 17 (it clips off the left side and appears to have other issues) (4) if not already there, simple way to disable the look and direction radials.

Potential

Has potential, but even with the updates.. triggers, alias, nothing works.

Promising but needs a lot of work

App still disconnects from servers on app switch with the newest version (iPhone 15). Saving triggers throws an error and they do not save. Message entry area doesn't grow with text, making it near impossible to scroll back and modify text if you've written a lot and want to modify or check for typos before sending.

Connection

Won't stay connected if app is left.
