Manipulative paywall that forces you to deny the very thing you’ve been fighting for
But the second you even look in the direction of pregnancy mode, the app completely drops the ball and becomes actively disrespectful.
Pregnancy mode is locked behind a paywall. That’s already frustrating, but the way they handle the paywall is what makes this unforgivable. When the app pushes you to subscribe and you try to leave the screen, the only exit option is essentially “I’m not pregnant.”
There is no neutral “Not now,” “Maybe later,” or “Just leave.” You are forced to actively affirm that you are not pregnant in order to close the screen.
I have been actively trying to conceive. This is something I’ve fought for tracked cycles, taken prenatals, dealt with the emotional weight of negative tests, the hope, the waiting. Being forced by an app to click a button that says “I’m not pregnant” just to get past their money grab is incredibly tone-deaf and manipulative. It feels like the app is making you deny the exact thing you’ve been working toward.
For an app that markets itself as empowering, supportive, and “built by women for women,” this design choice is the opposite of that. It prioritizes conversion over the actual emotional reality of the people using it.
If you’re just tracking periods and don’t mind the daily dragon upkeep, you might like Musa.
If you’re TTC, pregnant, or even just open to the possibility do yourself a favor and stay far away. There are better apps that don’t force you to gaslight yourself for a subscription.
good but small problem
Perfect daily companion
The tips and information included is great and has really helped me understand my cycle better but also support my feelings in the different phases. Better awareness overall. I have used other apps before but merely just for period tracking - this is so much more!! I recommend it!!

Great app!
Response from developer
Hi 🙂 Thanks so much for your thoughtful review — we’re really glad you’re enjoying the app and finding it helpful! We’re working on new ways to feed your dragon for users with busy schedules, and we’ve also improved support for irregular cycles so it adapts more accurately to changes. We appreciate your feedback about premium features too — we’re always looking for ways to make more insights available to everyone. Thanks for being part of Musa and helping us keep improving
