Learning sight reading faster than practice books

TL;DR I am learning how to sightread more efficiently and effectively than I did with any other app or book. Because the app evaluates if you’re playing each note correctly it ends up being a really great way to learn. (You can see why they named it with “flow” because it’s kind of mesmerizing and you just totally get in the flow/zone!) What was an eye-opener for me is that I no longer have to think about playing the right note and also monitoring myself. I’m not wondering if I played that last note correctly while I’m trying to figure out the next note. (I had no idea how distracting it was being both musician and judge at the same time!) Now I can just focus on improving. I feel like I’m playing a video game trying to get a high score on the accuracy percentage meter but I’m actually learning. It’s like rocket fuel for learning to sight read!
