Ads

Can’t properly use the App because you can’t stop or shut down ads. Very poor form which is a shame because it would be great otherwise

Trojan horse with ads

Is a fun app with a simple and open ended premise, however they just snuck in ads after a while of using and now we’re stuck with yet another app that doesn’t just litter the menus with ads, but also unskippable ads you have to watch just to do basic things like view the results of voting. Honestly will probably finish the leagues I’m a part of currently then uninstall and never touch again, it’s one thing to have ads around menus,
Another thing entirely to have unskippable ads you have to watch and are long and trick you into opening the App Store just to do something as simple and necessary to the app as viewing the results of voting. Really disappointed.

Makes music fun!

The game/concept is incredibly fun and addictive. If you play with IRL friends, it’s wonderfully social, too!
The app could use some upgrades.
1) a more robust in-league chat that allows pictures, gifs, or videos would be nice.
2) Being able to follow/connect/friend other players would be cool, and help players find more leagues to join.

Can’t close ads EVER

If you watch a 5min ad you still can’t see leagues results. Trash app, just use the website

The games in the ads contain fewer ads than Music League

I get that you guys have to keep the lights on but 1+ minute ad every time I try to view a different round in my league? And every time I open the app? And sometimes just for the hell of it?

Don’t use the app- use website instead

Ads make this app experience miserable.

Ads ruin it

The ads are completely ruining this app. You cannot do anything without >60 second intrusive ads that you cannot skip.

My soul for an ad free experience that doesn’t cost money

The ads are so bad. I get locked out of the app if i don’t disable my adblocker for a massive ad that takes up the screen and multiple smaller ones that open up the app store at the slightest misclick. Once i’m done with the league i’m in, or i’m tired of being locked out, i’m deleting this app. Ad culture has killed everything good.

Can’t use without a Spotify account

Love the concept! Would be great, except half of my friends don’t have Spotify and therefore can’t log in. This experience has made me unlikely to recommend this app to others.

Gone way downhill

This makes me sad to write because I’ve used music league since 2023 and it’s been my favorite way to bring friends together over music. But slowly by surely the app has become unusable with the sheer amount of ads. My music league groups now fail because people are unwilling to watch multiple LONG back to back ads just to even enter the app. I get you need to monetize but it’s now unusable. My latest league fell apart after one round and had less than 10% participation because the friction to use it is so high.

Ads completely ruin it

They have 30 second ads that cover the entire screen that you can’t close even after they stop playing. They also keep deleting my reviews so I’ll just have to keep giving 1 star I guess.

Love the app. Not the ads.

The concept of this is great but the ad breaks are just ridiculous. Why do I have to click through 20 pop-ups and non-skippable videos?? For me it ruins the integrity of the app. Also I suggest that people are able to comment on others comments after the round is up.

Ads have ruined the app

Intrusive unskiplable ads have made this an extremely frustrating app to use.

I can understand having these sorts of advertisements if the gameplay time to ad time was more proportional, but the actual use of the app involves opening it up to check scores or vote… which only takes around 45 seconds. But you’ll be stuck watching ads for probably a good minute and a half before you can even go in to check the stats.

Unusable app. Filled to the brim with ads.

I literally cannot use this app without being hit in the face with several-minute unskippable ads. It’s a great idea, but such bad execution. Makes me want to make my own version of the same app but without ads, or at least way less of them. There’s an option to watch “two” back-to-back ads (really four, another sneaky tactic), just to get access to just SIX HOURS of no ads. How is that useful when my league doesn’t complete a round until a few days later, meaning I won’t need to open the app until a few days later? Nobody is using this app for even one hour continuously, let alone six hours continuously. So there’s no added benefit. You’re basically forced to watch annoying ads one way or another, unless you want to pay. And the user experience is so poor to begin with that I’m not encouraged to pay.

Ads break the app

I use the free version of this app which makes you watch ads, which I’m fine with. However, the ads take over the whole screen and there’s no way to move on once they’ve completed. Then you’re stuck closing the app, starting over, watching another ad and hoping this one functions properly (they never do). I try to visit the app the bare minimum because then and only then can you use it. Otherwise it is unusable. If I was a paid user I’m sure it would be better but I haven’t seen enough of the app to warrant using it more often due to the prohibitive ad experience.
This app is a very fun idea. I’ve enjoyed the game I’m playing with friends but I would not join a second league unless I bought the ad free experience. I’m guessing this is why they did it but alas.

Slow

I don’t know if they are trying to get you to buy the premium but now rounds won’t skip early when everyone votes. This ruined the app. Takes way too long and gets boring waiting on the long deadlines even after everyone has voted

Buggy as hell

Always unable to generate playlists without it bugging out. Constantly have to make new leagues.

Love the concept so if they made it playable it’d be amazing.

Ads.

I shouldn’t have to say this…. It here I am saying it. You don’t shove users with ads down their throats. You don’t stonewall reviewers by telling people to watch ads and deal with it. I don’t care how long or how hard it took you to make this app, it when you piss off users with ads in the way that you, and every other tech f does. Have a bad day.

Super fun music app!

Been playing with my friends and strangers!

Ads!

I love ML, it’s a brilliant activity with the team at work and something we look forward to every week. This could be so beautiful but the ads are interminable. Even ‘watch ads for 6 hours free use’ freeze on the screen. And still pop up again next time. The arrows don’t work. Ads don’t close you have to close the app to get rid of them. At least it’s not royal crush and that awful king anymore. If I was ever going to get a Revolut account I’d have done it by now but I’ll soon be as annoyed with them as I am with that corny king.
