So very, very disappointed...
The old, pre-bitrate-enhanced version of the app had its share of quirks but I had figured out how to work around virtually all of them. The only ”enhancement" offered by the new app—a higher bitrate—is beyond useless to anyone listening in a vehicle, since wind and tire noise make the nominally improved sound quality impossible to detect or appreciate, and the greatly increased bandwidth burden has rendered the cellular stream non-functional at least half of the time I try to use the app. The initial problems with Apple CarPlay have been partially addressed, but those that remain—both stuttering connections and complete halts to streaming that sometimes respond to fiddling and sometimes are impossibly to safely address while driving—are maddening.
For what it’s worth, the current app works very well with broadband WiFi, but I very seldom use it this way.

I have been listening to MVY Radio and have made donations for years. This last update that was done, has really screwed up the connection. Signal goes in and out. Most the time I can get the station to come on when I activate the app. PLEASE FIX!

Great station, meh app
I love MVY. It’s the best radio station. However, the app has been a bit meh lately. A recent update broke its connection with CarPlay. Prior to that, it worked usually, but would sometimes freeze and require quitting the app to get it working again. It’d be amazing if the app was stable and worked perfectly with CarPlay. I’d also love it if the app, both on the phone and through CarPlay, allowed listening to the archive shows on MVY.

Used to be great
So sorry to report this app has been very difficult on my iPhone 14 the past few months. Takes forever to load and often never gets there. Other apps continue to work fine.
Wonky app
Sometimes this app works great, and other times it either fails to finish loading or refuses to connect once it does. Sometimes, even when it isn’t loaded, it connects all by itself in the middle of the night and starts blasting away on my nightstand. I’m honestly not sure if the problems are with the app or with iOS, but either way an app I’ve been using for years that once worked reliably has become annoyingly unreliable. (The wonky performance of the app aside, I still love the station.)

Great station, clunky app
I love MVY so much I must I’m a sustaining donor but this app is annoying! It is very slow to load. A network error alarm comes on almost every time I start the app and the station won’t start until you press OK. Then of course it’s slow to load. Sometimes it takes several tries to get on. Sadly, this has been going on for years.

Works with Apple CarPlay I have listened to MVY on the motorway in Ireland in a rental car. Also works with Bluetooth in my Ford.

What is with the ads?
Recently MVYradio app has ads when starting up. Very annoying. Especially for a “non-commercial” radio station. Hope they can fix this and get rid of the ads. The station is otherwise my favorite radio station.

PLEASE go back to or enable a setting to switch to the simple screen showing whats playing and what has previously play. Instead of the screen that scrolls all the twitter feed stuff.

Outstanding radio station
I used to listen to Mvy when I lived in Falmouth, Ma for years. They were one of the first stations to stream live and have only improved. I'm not aware of another unique station like this one. They have no set format like Rock, Country, Easy listening or anything like that. They play just about everything that is out there. They also play a lot of local artists and they even have a segment where they play an entire CD of one artist. It takes awhile to get used to listening because you will here music you have never heard before. WMVY opens your ears and mind to all kinds of new music!!!

Crash!
I thought it was me.... I loved the older version. Donated money to help the situation. Now the new version crashes repeatedly. Typically close to 5 minutes. I will not keep reopening app. Extremely frustrating!! Help!
