Can’t set a due date?

A waste of time setting it up to discover you cannot set a due date. That was not listed as a paid feature, only recurring was. Also, it forces the kid’d device to turn location services on for the app. For security, I teach them to keep that off for apps. I was going to try it out before purchasing, but now that it completely wasted my time, I’m moving on for a better app.

Not happy.

Downloaded this app because it said I would have the ability to create recurring chores and set times that each chore is due…. Nope. After some investigating I figured out I had to purchase a subscription.. whatever I guess I’ll give it a go so o purchased a subscription and NOPE! Still no option to set chores for tomorrow, recurring chores and set them at certain times. So, I asked for a refund from Apple and I will be deleting this app. It has good potential.

Almost perfect

So I’m using this app to track completed chores, so I can pay my children an allowance. I find it easy to use, and there are some improvements that could be made. I received an email from the company asking about the app, and I responded, and surprisingly I received feedback about my suggestions. I am excited to continue using the app, and I look forward to any improvements!

Apple Watch accessibility

Can you please make this app available on the Apple Watch? My children do not have devices(by parental choice) but they do have watches. I would love to use this app but I need them to be able to pull up their tasks and mark them as completed on their watch. Thank you.

Null?

I keep getting “null” at the top of the screen when I try to register. Everything is filled out correctly but it won’t let me past that.

Response from developer

Hello, We've addressed this bug that some users are seeing with the app and apologize for the inconvenience. The new release will be available early November and also includes multiple device logins for parents on the same account, task transfers from one child to another and drastically improved performance.

I really love this idea, but it’s got bugs

I’ve only had the app for 10 min so I will review again later. This is exactly the app I was looking for. The way it lets me assign tasks to my son and lock him out of apps if they aren’t completed is great! But I’ve had a lot of bugs. When signing up for an account the phone number slot gave me a lot of trouble. I had to close and reopen the app to get it to fix. I get a loading screen a lot and I’m not even sure yet what I’m waiting for to load. But it looks like the developers are working hard to fix the issues so I look forward to this being a smooth running app that is exactly what I was looking for soon!

Thanks for the feedback. We released the app on Amazon's AWS recently to address the performance and latency issues. You should notice the app running much faster and performing great. We're also planning a release in early November with some great new features that we hope you enjoy, and as always we welcome suggestions at support@myearnitapp.com for new feature development. If we implement your idea your account will be credited free for life!

Edited review

Edit - I contacted the developer and they have been very responsive and helpful in trying to fix problems. I’m hopeful the problems can be resolved since it’s such a great idea. Wonderful customer service.

Put it on both my kids tablets. It made my daughter’s flip out, and wouldn’t block apps on my son’s. Shame - it’s a great concept.

Response from developer

Hello Eileen, The original EarnIt application was developed to allow parents to block apps on both iOS and Android devices, but Apple forced developers to remove the functionality to manage apps on other devices which is very unfortunate because it's a fundamental feature of EarnIt. We're sorry that we have no control over this policy and hope other features in the app make it a valuable family tool. We've also addressed performance issues in the app by moving to Amazon AWS which drastically improved the speed and stability of the app. The new release in November addresses some minor bugs and also includes features such as shared account logins so parents and both use the same account at the same time and task transfers from one child to another. Please let us know what you think at support@myearnitapp.com!

Good concept but not ready yet.

Everything took forever to load if it loaded at all. Just added a couple tasks to check the concept but it was too slow for me to try and bother with it any longer.
