A different perspective

I enjoy the app for the different perspective it gives of my favorite team(s). Only complaint I have is my fav team (the Phillies) are in the World Series but on Sunday the app switched all news to the Eagles (another fav but not what I wanted to read about). I was unable to find anything to switch the app back to baseball. The next day it had gone back on its own. Need a way (or at least one you can find) to switch between teams or sports.

Live Video is Okay at Best

The streams work, yes, but if you need to turn off rotation lock, the stream will pause. If you rotate the screen, the stream will freeze completely 30% of the time. There’s no Picture in Picture support. There’s so air play support either. No video scrubbing. The “go live” button will occasionally work too. If you press the “go live” button too soon after opening the app to resume a feed, the entire UI just stops responding and doesn’t go to the live location.

The live video “works” but not well. Surprised this made it to customers at all. Needs major support and updates.

Fix the connection…

App will not open when it is connected to WiFi. WiFi needs to be turned off to even get the app to open. If I’m lucky enough to get it to open, the game will not cast to my smart tv. I have watched Phillies baseball this way for the last couple of years, and I’ve never had this issue. It gets hung up on the MyTeams Sports logo and it will not go any further. The game will not load, despite my phone believing it is connected fine. This last only been happening since last Wednesday. Prior to that, I rarely had an issue. Please someone look into this and see what has changed since last Wednesday.

Buggy, not fully intuitive

It kinda gets the job done, but it is not fully intuitive and is buggy…

- not clear how to switch between teams you’ve added, nor does it really show you what teams are there. It took a LOT of playing to figure out how to switch from one team to another

- app starts in portrait mode, even if you’re in landscape mode. It will switch to landscape mode if you move your iPad back to portrait mode and then rotate, but it doesn’t just figure out how to do it on its own.

- sometimes, it will only play the live video stream inside a window with no options to get it into a full screen. Other times, it will put you into full screen mode with no ways to get out of it and back to the app. There are no controls on this, and fully restarting the app doesn’t guarantee results one way or another. This needs to be fixed!! Also, when it switches to landscape mode, the video becomes too large for the screen and some of it is cut off on both sides.

- it talks about notifications, but I saw nothing about what you want to be notified about and when…

This app also needs to allow for Picture in Picture mode, where I can hit the home button and get out of the app and still get the video in a small window in the corner on my iPad.

Please make this more intuitive and user friendly, and please fix the bugs described above.

Resuming the live stream is always buggy

Whenever I close the app to answer a message or check a score in another app, I come back to a video stream that is stuck on a commercial loop, or cannot be “caught up” using “Go to live.”

I’d love the ability to see the video become “picture in picture” across apps like the NFL or the TNT apps. Having to force quit to continue watching live is a pain.

Additionally, the live scores in the popover are frequently laggy. I’d be okay with a “refresh” button to manually trigger them.

College teams

Wish you could add your favorite college teams to the app. Could ask colleges to provide the same material they submit via email so no additional editorial work by the developers of the app. Would love to have all this information in one place. I am 80 plus and a female but I still love sports but would love to have it in one place. Thanks. P. Moran.

Good articles, not the best readability

My only problems with this app are easily fixable. Here’s the suggestions 1) I want to read everything, and get caught up on all the latest for all my local teams, but I only open the app a few times a week - so I scroll down and read them from bottom to top…seems logical since they are sequential and game updates etc following the time…but the app forces you to close each article and then scroll up to get the next one…really cumbersome (and I alone in my approach/concern?), then 2) when you are reading down to the bottom of the article, and you flip too fast, then that fast scrolling closes the article before you can read the last line or two? It’s another usability “feature” to move to the next article below the current one that doesn’t align with my bottoms up approach to devouring all the great content…

Bugs not fixed, no response to problem with app

I have been using the app for a couple years. In May 2021 the app decided to log me out of my tv provider and I tried to log in again. I tap on my provider to log in but nothing ever happens. It doesn’t take me to the log in screen like it’s supposed to, it stays on the same screen. I’ve deleted the app and downloaded it again, I’ve waited for updates, and I’ve contacted MyTeams NBC but none of these methods work and I’ve received no response from NBC. It’s very frustrating that I can’t watch the teams that I pay for to watch and it’s unbelievable that the problem hasn’t been fixed for over half a year now.

Frustrating experience on iPad

When watching live games on my iPad Air (3rd gen) at full screen on landscape mode, the video doesn’t display in letterbox. This results in video being cut off on the sides, which really impacts the viewability of games and plays. Additionally, commercials often seem to cause the video player to freeze. This results in having to kill the app and restart it to get back to a live game. Navigation between teams is frustrating too - the knob like feature is frustrating to use.

Love this app

I really enjoy the interviews, the easy info on schedule, stats etc, but especially the in depth articles from Alex Pavlovicz and others. Today I was not able to see the game and I looked at the scoring info, but I saw that my friend was able to see it with quicker updates and literally watch details of each pitch on her MLB app. So... that was better, but overall I really like the app- I get in-depth info that she doesn’t get.

Great when it works. Have to close and reopen app when it hangs.

Has a habit of freezing during commercials and will not restart unless I completely close the app and restart it. Will often not “go live” after clicking on the “go live” option. Again, requiring that the app be completely closed and reopened in order to catch up with the live broadcast. Pretty annoying.
Also the screen truncates the left and right edges of the picture on my tablet so I can’t always see the scores or clock if the network puts that information on the edge. That only happens in landscape mode.

Some useful information but lacks detail

There is some useful information available. I use the Schedule and division standings often. The active scoring part lags behind the game several minutes and it doesn’t really show you who is doing what. No batting order for example. It also lacks player statistics so you have to go elsewhere for that. It does have articles/video analysis but i tend to get that elsewhere lime during an actual broadcast.

Would rate 1 star except it has live stream

I am grateful that this app can live stream so I gave it 4 stars - although live stream in landscape mode on my iPad cuts off the scoreboard on bottom right of NBA games. Otherwise I would give it 1 star. The layout is too graphic oriented trying too hard to be wow or something - hard to figure out where information is - always seems to start on a screen of a sport I am not interested in right now - like NFL during the summer.

Not available in my area

I am a transplanted Pennsylvanian living in the Atlanta area(35 years now) and still following all the Philly teams but cannot watch any of the games through this app, as it’s not carried by any of the local cable carriers. You should make this app available to be purchased separately from any carrier so that fans outside of the state can still watch the games.

If there is a way to watch the games I be vey happy to hear how

Appreciation

For a lifelong Boston fan out in San Diego, where most of the four major sports teams from Boston area are seldom on national television during the regular season, this is a great resource for me. Right now I’m keeping up with the Celtics and the Bruins with articles, Game schedules and times, scores and highlights. Especially this time of year May 19, 2021 with both the Celtics and Bruins now in the playoffs, I can get the nationally televised game information for each of those teams from this app.
And independent of this app I get NFL news about my Patriots from I think it’s an NBC Sports app with not games so much is commentaries from the Talking Heads, as well as highlights.

...Why Cant I Lock My Phone And Hear The Game?

first off, half of these reviews are left by absolute imbeciles who give the app a 5 star rating and proceed to rip it a new one in the review they write. for gods sake open your eyes and look at what youre doing lol this app should have 1.5 star rating. second, the app has a really bad layout. counterintuitive even. also, what do you benefit from not allowing users to lock their device and still hear the game. really, whats the point? youre incentivizing people to just stream the game online for free illegally lol if you want that to end, you have to win people over! and you can start by letting us lock our phones ans listen to the game! not complicated :)

Gets old fast

A few good articles, and the video options spice things up a little. However, the reporting is very superficial, and doesn’t have anything that an avid follower won’t be able to find elsewhere. There is room for more depth, analysis and variety in stories. Recently, the reporting has sunk to new lows with 50-75% of 49ers stories nothing more than copying various other reporters speculation about the #3 pick. It’s a circle jerk and a pathetic excuse for professional reporting.

Wish they had Major college teams too (Cal, Stanford, etc).

Unintuitive mess

Compared to other apps this one is severely lacking. For starters the app itself is not intuitive. How do you add teams to your teams after the fact? I do not see anything in settings or an account section of the app. There must be a way to do it though. Also, this app supports minimizing the stream into a picture in picture viewing experience but only within the app itself. The stream goes away the minute you try to go back home whereas other streaming apps let you multitask. Forcing you to stay in-app to view the stream along with an unintuitive user interface is why I give this app 1 star. It's by far the worst live sports streaming app I've used.

For a Comcast products, it’s pretty good

The app is more than serviceable. But is very annoying to manage. It’a also not formatted for tablets, so the broadcast is fit to the tablet screen, rather than the standard widescreen format.

For basketball games, broadcasts that typically out the score box in the bottom right corner of the screen, this means the score isn’t visible at all.

For baseball and hockey games, the team names/cities are barely visible.

Inconsistent at first leading to broken

For the first year I’d used this app it worked alright, it was missing some features that other similar apps have, like being able to cast to another device. Since the all star break 2021 it doesn’t link with my cable provider correctly and won’t let me watch Washington games and instead has me watch flyers games. I contacted customer service and it took them about a week to contact me, I responded and got another email a couple days later. Now it’s been another week and nothing. Pretty disappointing all around.
