I don’t usually write reviews, but U Mobile really pushed me to this point.
It’s been ONE whole month and I still don’t have proper signal. Not weak signal, literally no line most of the time. I’m paying every month for what exactly? Stress?
The app can look as “nice” as it wants, but it’s completely useless when the network is this bad. Data doesn’t load, calls fail, and sometimes I just sit there staring at my phone like an idiot waiting for something to work.
Honestly feels like this service is a joke. Imagine being a telco in 2026 and still can’t provide basic connection. That’s the bare minimum.
I tried to be patient, but this is just embarrassing at this point. Definitely one of the worst decisions I’ve made switching to this.
If you’re thinking about using U Mobile, don’t learn the hard way like I did

Pick a better provider
App is buggy. Unable to top up card and the plans are confusing. When you buy the SIM, you have one gigabyte standard and you have to go into the app to buy the correct plan. Be careful as some plans are for specific countries.
Money drain
It’s not recommended for games.Unavailable 24/7 and draining your money.
Crashing
This app has been crashing and unable to log in for the past 5-6 days. Please fix this.
eating my money
Idk whats going on w umobiles app but the other i topup rm10 and as soon as i was given a notification from my bank that i was charged for 10 from umobile, i went back to the app just to purchase my weekly add ons, the app froze and kept kicking me out. I was logged out and it wouldnt load. I waited for almost 2 days, and after deleting the app, i downloaded it back just to find out my rm10 was gone from my top up 😭.

Non stop spamming notifications
What is this scrappy app?? U wanna to promote your business but shouldn’t spamming your notifications like every 10 seconds… just playing game for 30min and keep receiving your promotion notices non stop….
Besides that the services u provided really lousy. Signed up for the home wifi just because of your router can be carry around and can enjoy the wifi at any where an anytime. But the services quality is always disconnected and signal not stable…

today i received tons of ads about winning iphone from umobile apps, they kept sending one after another after 2/3 mins and it started to feel annoyingly . also even i bought internet 38 ringgit it has no different than 30 ringgit punya , still slow , and sometimes got no internet at all like no 5G but when i check my sister phone (shes also using umobile , eh no problem lak. FIX IT WE PAID EXPENSIVE WEY

eSIM Setup
Bought 3 sim cards total, first two had issues even trying to sign in the app, terrible experience in the app signing up might I add.
On the third card, I had to deposit money to buy a plan, just to realise I need the number already in my phone to get an eSIM after buying the plan. My phone doesn’t take physical sims. So practically I’ve burned through RM70, no data, and a terrible experience.
Don’t bother getting if it’s for an eSIM registration. Get an eSIM elsewhere

Ils m’ont prélevé trois fois alors qu’ils m’ont envoyé qu’une seule eSIM. J’ai payé pour un forfait illimité de data. Je me suis retrouvé avec un giga pour un mois. Ce sont des menteurs, je déconseille fortement vaut mieux aller chez hot Link.

Misleading Roaming Add-On & No Refund
I purchased a roaming add-on for my trip to India through the U Mobile app. I went to Add-On > Roam & Travel, searched for “India,” and a RM15 Unlimited Roaming plan appeared. Even though it stated “valid in Malaysia,” I didn’t understand why it was showing under the India search results, naturally I assumed it was meant for India since the app displayed it there.
After purchasing, I contacted customer service and was told the plan is only for Malaysia and they refused to refund me. If the plan is not meant for India, why does it appear when searching specifically for India? This is clearly an app bug or a serious UI issue that misleads users into buying the wrong plan.
Very disappointed with the lack of accountability. The error happened because of the app, yet the customer is the one who has to bear the loss.

I decided to get a physical sim over a stupidly expensive eSIM and I really paid for it. The app is pointless, and costumer assistance does not help. And the automated responses are not even relevant. The app just isn’t clear and it’s all split up into little unnecessary sections that make it even more confusing to figure out if your sim is activated or not. All in all I want to cry

Cannot use this forever
It is state in the description that this app need ios 15.6 and above to use it, my ios is 15.8 why I can’t open the app?? Am I wrong? The app keep asking to update and I’m updating it until I can’t use it anymore. When I click the app, it pops up and close quickly. I keep uninstall and install it back. Nothing works! How to purchase my plan on app then? I need to ask my sister to download the app on her phone to purchase my data every time. She’s not a umobile user. Why you make an app that cannot be use?? I didn’t make any purchase on website because the price is much higher than the app. Plus the website will eventually redirect me to download the app to purchase. Not helping at all! It’s been months I can’t use the app. Being a senior developer but don’t know how to make a good functional app. So annoying.
