So frustrating

This was a great app until they completely cut your access to the app unless you subscribe and agree to paying once the ā€˜free trial ends’. I can’t even access my previous information like period dates that I’ve previously put into the app so i’ve lost track of everything. So disappointing

paywall

I literally cannot use the app unless i accept a 1 month trial which id rather not do

Can’t get past the pop

The app was really good when it first came out but it must no longer be free. I can’t get past the pop up asking about a membership. It’s super annoying and if it’s not free anymore I would’ve liked to know that instead of endless pop ups about subscription options

Is it really free

I’m stuck at to pay for membership so maybe don’t get your hopes up it was promising but it wasn’t free

frustrating problem!

why on earth can i not view my cycle logs on the app without paying for a subscription. i’ve been logging it in there for some time now and i simply want to access it and get rid of this app! i DON’T want to pay for a subscription, fix this or tell us beforehand that this app requires a subscription to access even the most basic of things! and we can’t take screenshots either! you’ve ALOT TO FIX

Too many bugs and bad support

I really wanted to love this, but after the terrible experience I’ve had with the ad pop ups blocking my access entirely, terrible customer support, and just a jumble of bug issues, I’ve been forced to delete my account through the back end. What are you supposed to do when you literally cannot access the app because of constant ads about subscriptions blocking your access? And refusal for help from customer service on top of that. The fasting tracking was also hella confusing and needed work. And, the only device available for syncing was apple watch. People have other devices!
I really wanted to like this but I do hope this experience improves, far too many bugs and the organization is cluttered and confusing. Also, why is there no login button when you first download the app? I have to remake my profile, which is hugely inconvenient. Please also improve your support outreach.

inaccurate prayer times

everytime i open the app its asking for a new update šŸ˜•

don’t play with sis

the app is smooth , whys it making my old iphone seem new ? motivating me to pray and read quran after feeling distant from religion. from black woman to black woman you’re setting standards for coming generations , family should be proud allahumabarik

No way to refuse free trial

When the app was initially released, there was no requirement to create an account or subscribe for anything. Now, you cannot utilize the app without an account as there is no option. I was upset with that but it was reasonable as you could still use the app’s basic features. Unfortunately, they updated the app and now you cannot even use the basic features of the app advertised as they force you to sign up for their free trial. There is currently no option to refuse the free trial so you are effectively locked out of the app. Such a shame because the app was really good
and I was considering donating at some point.

Good but the pay wall is annoying

I was really happy to download the app, it was a breath of fresh air after using Muslim Pro for a decade. It’s annoying ads that had haram things being promoted is what made me leave it for Nafs. Nafs is great in so many ways, but the pay wall is annoying. I opened and closed the app four times in a row because the pall wall wouldn’t go away after pressing X. It finally went away on the fifth try, but come on. It should’ve simply gone away after the first time. I get you need money to keep the app going, trust me. And I do hope it’s a bug! But if it’s not, it will not make users want to buy the subscription. Instead it will make people want to delete the app, all your hard work going to waste. I genuinely believe it’s one of the best Muslim apps made, and I love the features it has. So I don’t want the app to go downhill. I hope I didn’t come across as rude or anything. Thank you.

Cannot use

At first I loved this app. It’s clean, concise, thoughtful and easy to use, but I’ve had too many issues to even access the app.

I have been logged out of my account numerous times for no reason, and forced to create a new account when I really needed to check the prayers times, making me late or almost miss prayers. I open the app everyday, so it doesn’t make sense why I would be logged out.

The female health/cycle features are locked behind a paywall unfortunately, but I paid for a month’s subscription to test it out. I found that I didn’t really use the features so I cancelled the subscription, but now I cannot access the app at all- all the free content is blocked by a subscription pop-up with no way to close it.

I’ve tried closing and restarting the app, deleting and redownloading it, and making a new account, but just opening the app immediately brings up the payment page. It’s really disappointing that I’m being forced to pay just to view my prayer times, when they were previously accessible for free.

Thankfully, I still get my prayer notifications, but other than that, the app is unusable. I can’t change any settings, access my account, view the Quran, etc. I really hope there’s some fix for this because I prefer this app over other prayer apps, but nafs has let me down on so many occasions in the short time I’ve had it.

Amazing app, clean ux

Love the app. It has everything I need and more in an Islamic app. I literally deleted 2 others apps because this one has everything.
My one feedback is the Quran listening experience. There should be a dedicated tab you can go to to listen to the Quran just like you can read. Right now when I try to listen to the Quran I go through many routes to get there and when I do listen to the surah, it does not play the next one afterwards. I have to go back in and select the next surah. Continuous listening would be amazing and a dedicated listening tab. JazakAllah khair

i can’t use the app

I really like the app, but it’s asking me to start a free trial and since i don’t have a card on my phone i’m not able to go forward with the app. It isn’t giving me any option to not do the free trial or x out of it so i’m just stuck on that page. Please fix this problem i really love the app before this happened!

I lovee but..

i am obsessed with the layout and the information on app as i am a revert. being able to read hadiths and have all the names of Allah in one place is amazing and i love the games aswell. my only issue is the app is almost unusable right now. the pop up for the subscription won’t go away no matter how many times i press the X. i love the app but it can be buggy sometimes. i’m sticking it out right now, InshAllah an update comes soon that’ll fix it.

Love the app but not free

I really like the app but can’t access any of the widgets without being prompted to purchase a membership. If I try to close out of it, the same
pop up appears and prevents me from using any of the features. I really do love this app but am saddened I can no longer use it because of the constant membership pop up.

Issue

Stuck on the screen where it offers me options for subscription
Try to x out and then takes me back to the other screen where it asks me to look at options
Really upsetting because I was enjoying the app and now I can’t seem to use it

Paywalls - Not a Free App

I liked the app at first but now I can’t use it at all without a paywall popping up constantly. I can’t access any function like the journal, period tracking, prayer times. Whats the point of advertising as a free app? Super disappointed.

100% recommend!!!

As a Muslim revert I used the Athan app for the longest time. And throughout the years I have come across other apps I have wanted to try. I used Flo to track my cycle as well. And WALLAH this is the best app I have ever come across. They have everything in one app. Tracking my cycle has become so much easier with this app as well as learning, keeping track of missed fasts, journaling, and of course PRIVACY, NO AI, NO ADS, and cheaper than paying for Flo and Athan at the same time. Alhumdulilah for this amazing app and may Allah grant an abundance of blessings to the brothers and sisters helping build this app! Ameen. Thank YOUšŸ«¶šŸ¼

Very thoughtfully developed for the lifestyle of a Muslim, MashaAllah!

I love how several aspects of my life, such as ibadah, seeking knowledge, and my monthly cycle are thoughtfully catered to in this app. JazakAllahu Khaira to the developers.

Free Version not available

Suggestion would be to keep the free version.

Response from developer

salam! we’re still a startup, and we’re trying to build something that lasts, especially with our hardware and all the new features we have planned. because of that, we’ve had to restructure our subscription model. our goal is to keep it at the same affordable price, but unfortunately we can’t offer the app completely free to everyone anymore. if we did, we wouldn’t be able to stay ad-free or continue building and improving nafs. inshallah, the $1.99/month goes directly toward supporting the team, keeping our engineers employed, and helping us build what’s next. that said, if you genuinely can’t afford it and you’ve been an early supporter who truly loves nafs, we’d be more than happy to gift you a free subscription (reach out to us at nafs.fyi/contact) we really appreciate you being with us from the beginning, so don’t worry about it
