Bad Quality Control, Please Fix Startup Issues
I used apps similar to this one, such as the World Youth Day app from last year. The one common denominator in all of these apps for temporary Catholic events is the lack of quality control. Popular apps such as iBreviary, Amen, Hallow, and MyParish are well-polished and snappy. Both this app and the WYD 2023 app have very long startup times that can be deemed unacceptable by participants. It takes 20 SECONDS to load this app. I’m reviewing this app BEFORE the event starts so that the developers can apply some fixes as soon as possible.

Opaque Login Process
The registration for setting up a login is opaque. There is no link to a privacy statement, no indication who controls my data, and whether I will be tracked after NEC. You cannot use a “burner” email account. You must use the email account you used to register for NEC. The app is great, as it pulls in all the sessions I have pre-registered for into “My Schedule”, and it allows me to add additional ones. However, I am a priest and it does not allow me to add the times I would like to celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation. So, my schedule is incomplete.
