Handy App but….
Could do with having an option to put a reference when taking a payment. When reconciling at a later date with my accounts package it’s easier to know what the payment was for.
Useless
Signed up online, account was created absolutely fine and logs in everytime. I download the app, attempt to sign in and keep receiving the error “Login Credentials not recognised”. I then try to reset password in app, tells me there’s an error and to contact customer service. Why bother making us use apps, bank machines etc if you can’t make them work/full-proof.

Time wasters
I wouldn’t bother. They aren’t interested in smaller businesses.
Terrible customer service
Been using the app for two years ,not many problems enough to be annoying but suddenly said I’d failed security and locked me out of my banking , couldn’t take any payments , has taken two days endless calls been hung up on and not called back, shocking half hour waits for someone to answer and then loads of security questions like mental maths jumping through hoops and still couldn’t get it sorted out
A shame as when it works it’s good , when it doesn’t say goodbye to hours of your life

Awful
It jams after each transaction so I have to delete the app and re install. It also keeps the payment over weekends and holidays and overnight.
Upgrades needed.
Things need to be updated the app is very laggy always logging staff members out of the tap to pay. There needs to be an option to see payments taken from terminal and tap to pay on the one app. Also payment link option.
SO BAD DO NOT RECOMMEND
NatWest's tap to pay feature has garnered a mix of opinions since its introduction. While many users appreciate the convenience of contactless payments, there are several criticisms and concerns regarding its functionality and security. This essay will explore various aspects of the NatWest tap to pay system, including its usability, security issues, customer service experiences, and the overall impact on consumer behavior.
Firstly, one of the primary criticisms of NatWest's tap to pay feature is its usability. While contactless payments are designed to streamline transactions, many users have reported issues with the system not functioning properly. This can be particularly frustrating in busy retail settings where speed is essential. Customers have experienced situations where their cards fail to register, requiring multiple attempts to complete a transaction. Such delays can lead to dissatisfaction and a negative perception of the service. Moreover, the reliance on technology means that any technical glitches can disrupt the payment process entirely, leaving consumers feeling vulnerable and annoyed.
Security is another significant concern surrounding the NatWest tap to pay feature. Although contactless payments are marketed as secure, there are still potential risks involved. Critics argue that the ease of tap to pay can lead to unauthorized transactions, especially if a card is lost or stolen. Unlike traditional chip and PIN transactions, which require user authentication, contactless payments can be made without any verification up to a certain limit. This opens the door for fraudulent activities, as someone could easily use a lost card to make purchases without the owner’s knowledge. Additionally, there is growing anxiety about the potential for data breaches and hacking, which could compromise sensitive financial information.
Customer service experiences also play a crucial role in shaping public perception of the NatWest tap to pay feature. Many users have reported difficulties in resolving issues related to their contactless payments. When problems arise, customers often find themselves navigating through lengthy automated phone systems or waiting for extended periods to reach a representative. This lack of efficient support can exacerbate frustrations, leading to a sense of helplessness among consumers. Furthermore, if customers feel that their concerns are not being adequately addressed, they may lose trust in the entire banking system, including the tap to pay feature.
The impact of the NatWest tap to pay system on consumer behavior cannot be overlooked. While convenience is a significant factor in its popularity, it may also encourage impulsive spending. With the ability to make quick transactions without the need for cash or PIN entry, consumers might be more likely to make spontaneous purchases that they would otherwise reconsider. This shift in behavior can lead to financial strain, particularly for individuals who struggle with budgeting. The ease of tap to pay can create a false sense of financial security, making it essential for consumers to remain mindful of their spending habits.
In conclusion, while NatWest's tap to pay feature offers convenience and speed, it is not without its drawbacks. Usability issues, security concerns, and customer service challenges can significantly impact the overall experience for users. As technology continues to evolve, it is crucial for banks and financial institutions to address these concerns to build trust and ensure a positive experience for their customers. Balancing convenience with security and customer support will be essential in determining the long-term success of contactless payment systems like NatWest's tap to pay.

Could be fantastic
The process and setup is very easy. Also not many things in the app to be confused, so it’s good in the beginning. Appreciate that getting all the payments in the next working day by the 6am unlike other competitors at the eod.
When it comes to taking the payments, it frustrates a lot. I am using it to take payments for my taxi. When initiating the payment it taking lot of time which frustrates both passenger and me. After taking the payment also, it’s taking lot longer to check whether it succeeded or not. It is really handy to take payments in the mobile only but things like this can easily be fixed by the team.
Been using this since last 6 months, it’s hard to choose other provider.
Please fix.
Thanks.

usually not working
after skip tips, usually can’t load the tap and pay page, will have different results.
1. keep loading
2. screen flashing and return to set amount page
3. force close
Luckily I have revolut pro to collect card payments, same transaction fee if using card reader.

Disappointed
Used the app since the beginning of August last year but for some reason this year it just seems to be getting slower and slower to the point it just freezes. I’ve now gone back to sum up .
Most often doesn’t work
So we have to switch back to SumUp machine which is more percentage but never an issue and worth the extra considering aswell the loading times sometimes with the awkward wait with customers to find out card declined but works on SumUp fine
Did not work for me
The app failed to initialise the card reading session when I wanted to take payment from a client. Very disappointed. Lucky I had a back up ‘square’ which came to my rescue.
Not sure whether I want to trying this app for receiving payments.

Not iPhone 8 Plus compatible
Was looking forward to using tap to pay but on loading the app it would instantly crash after clicking confirm on the payment screen.
This was confirmed by support that it isn’t compatible with iPhone 8 Plus despite saying compatible.

Why 24 hour time format?
Why does iOS need to be in a 24 hour format? Other than that, everything is ok.
Customer service James!
Although I was calling the customer service team with an issue. James was extremely helpful walking me through everything I needed to do. 5* for James and his lovely attitude.
Awful process
The app may be OK but the hoops you have to go to activate are laughable. I cannot recommend it at all
Crashes
App keeps crashing on iPhone 8 Plus iOS 16.7. when I signed up, it said it works on any iPhone above iOS 16
Can’t use it
Downloaded it as we’re with NatWest, tried signing up and it said we couldn’t and that someone would have to get back to us.
Entered and double checked all the contact info and waited, that was over a month ago so had to find another method for face to face transactions.

Not bad
Sometimes takes a while from entering the amount to charge customer to actually being ready to take payment. Leads to an awkward wait while the app catches up
Great product
Really easy to use and convenient, customer service is amazing.
Couple of issues which they are working on but would highly recommend looking into using for business!
