So Many Problems

There is so much wrong with this app, it is hard to know when to begin: 1. App did not pick up seat number for my first two tickets. You can get in venue, but you don’t know where your seat is. 2. App did not correctly pick up the QR code. 3. Calendar entries made from tickets did not have the time. 4. It could not pick up linear bar code. I don’t recommend this app at all.

Response from developer

Appreciate you laying it all out, that's a rough first run and I want to make it right. The model can miss fields like seat numbers on tougher tickets. You can correct any field in the edit screen before creating the pass. Some linear barcode formats also aren't ones Apple Wallet renders natively yet, which may be why the code didn't come through. To remove a pass, open it in Wallet, tap the ••• button and choose Remove Pass.

NeatPass NOT

I purchased this app to capture my Costco Membership info, but it didn’t capture the bar code which is the only reason I purchased the app. So beware.

Response from developer

Sorry it missed your barcode, that's the one thing it needed to get right. Email me at Justin@Lanfermann.dev and I'll take a look.

Wanted to add driving license

Was hoping to use this as a hack to get my driving license onto the wallet app. 4* because the app is good for everything else.

Sus app size

Why on earth is a pdf to pass app 1gb is size? Very suspicious.

Response from developer

Nothing suspicious going on, the size is the AI model that runs entirely on your iPhone. That's the whole point: your documents get read and converted on-device instead of being uploaded to a server somewhere. Keeping it all local is what makes the download bigger.

Great pass conversion

Neat pass is the smartest, and slickest way to put passes, etc. Into your smart wallet. The fact that it’s beautifully designed, and
priced competitively makes this a winner.

Response from developer

Thanks so much, really glad it clicks. Reviews like this keep the solo dev grind going :)

NeatIdea, Didn’tWorkForMe

Bought this based on a review video online. I’ll update my review if my experience improves but so far the app completely whiffed on parsing basic and obvious information like the date of the event. It also miscategorized the type of event even when plenty of indicators were present. Maybe adding a review stage, like, “Does this look right?” prompt to compare the source document to the result would give users a better shot at correcting mistakes that are bound to happen. I’m sure this app works great for certain kinds of things, but not for the event tickets I received. I missed the return window so I’ll try again the next time I have to use a service that doesn’t provide e-tickets; hopefully I’ll have better results.

I'm sorry the extraction missed the mark on your tickets. The ML model doesn't get every format right yet, but NeatPass does give you full control to fix things up, you can edit the title, date, category, and all other fields directly before saving the pass. Your idea about a comparison step is a good one though, and I'd like to explore that. Thank you for using the app!
