Cannot see/Read - teeny-tiny font font

The font in the neighbors app is teeny-tiny and impossible to read. You cannot stretch it, you cannot change font size, and upsizing font size in iOS does not pass any of the changes to the neighbors app. ALL other apps, games, phone, texts, etc are all reflecting a larger font size. ZERO changes in neighbors. This pretty much renders the app to be USELESS. Worse than the neighbors app are the replies. Not only are they even tinier… the font colored is uber light - poor contrast. There is no way to reach ANYONE to get help or suggest a fix. All chat responses are to upsize iOS. This does NOT fix or include changes to this app.

Don’t download if you want to see anything useful

There can be ten+ posts about fireworks etc on themed nights. But a post asking about what’s going on/if it’s safe to go out when there’s a handful of cop cars, a fire truck, ambulance and military police is not even allowed to be posted. Absolute joke.

What happened?

It looks like your team must be rejecting every video waiting to be posted because maybe the last month or so one maybe two videos and we do not live in a crime area.
It seems this app is very sporadic with updating. I don’t see videos no more ring videos from people in the neighborhood. What’s happening?

Extremely Frustrating and Inconsistent

I am extremely disappointed with the way Neighbors handles posts and content moderation. Every single one of my posts since May has been denied, despite the fact that I have made a conscious effort to follow the guidelines.

I have never used specific descriptions, names, addresses, identifying characteristics, or anything that would directly identify an individual. I have simply tried to make my neighbors aware of legitimate issues happening within our neighborhood.

What makes this even more frustrating is seeing other people’s posts discussing dead bodies, drugs, war, politics, and other highly sensitive or controversial subjects—yet somehow my posts about actual neighborhood disturbances are considered unacceptable.

When I try to post about a young man wandering around the neighborhood and harassing people, my post gets denied. When I try to bring attention to someone else’s car alarm repeatedly going off for hours at a time, during both the day and middle of the night, creating an ongoing disturbance for the surrounding residents, that gets denied too.

So what exactly is the purpose of this app if residents can’t communicate about legitimate safety concerns, disturbances, or ongoing neighborhood issues?

The moderation appears inconsistent, selective, and completely disconnected from what residents actually need this platform for. If posts can discuss dead bodies, drugs, war, and politics but residents can’t respectfully warn others about harassment or an excessive noise disturbance without having their posts rejected, then something is seriously wrong with the moderation process.

Do better, Neighbors. Residents should not have to wonder why legitimate concerns are being silenced while far more extreme content is allowed to remain on the platform.

Good app

Very nice app and very clear videos.

New update is horrible.

All I’m getting are lost or found pets. I used to be able to block this.

Worthless

I tried using the app to ask the community to help identify a trespasser on my property and Ring/Neighbors would not approve my post even though it followed all their guidelines. The app is worthless unless you’re interested in seeing cats walking by people’s Ring cams.

Unhappy with app

This app don’t allow you to post or asks questions, my post always get denied. I tried posting asking about jobs in the area or asked if anyone knew who was hiring and got denied. All I was asking if anyone know of any remote jobs but got denied.

Posts Rejected by Personal Feelings

Neighbors app is honestly one of the strangest places on the internet.
To post anything, you have to pick from their tiny list of approved categories like you are filling out paperwork at the DMV. Fine. I picked “crime” because, believe it or not, the post was about an actual crime.

Every morning at 6:00 a.m., some genius launches a professional-grade firework and wakes up the entire neighborhood. Not once, but twice, 2 mornings in a row. Pretty sure that checks a few “crime” boxes like disturbing the peace and illegal fireworks.

So this is what I tried to post:
“If anyone knows who is launching a single illegal firework at 6:00 in the morning for the last couple of mornings, can you please report that neighbor of yours to the city so that they can fine him and even execute a search warrant on his house for more of those illegal fireworks?! Please?”

Apparently, that was unacceptable.
Not because it wasn’t about a crime, but because whatever overly-sensitive woke snowflake reviewed it decided it did not meet their personal “criteria.” So now we are at a point where setting off illegal explosives at sunrise is fine, but talking about it is where the line gets crossed.

Makes total sense.
If the app is supposed to be about keeping neighborhoods informed, they might want to start by figuring out what a crime actually is instead of filtering posts based on someone’s personal opinion that day.

Doesn’t load anything

Trying to post about a lost pet which is pretty time sensitive and this app does not upload all the photos. It gives me the options to post 5 and after 30 tries of the upload failing it only posts 1 picture/video. I used on WiFi and 5G LTE and neither work. I have perfectly fine service. Very disappointed as important things need to be posted on here as it’s time sensitive material a lot of the time and the app does not function well at all.

Where’s the old preferences???

This app used to be good as it offered a legend at the top which you could click to see incidents, reports about your neighborhood, etc. you also used to be able to FILTER for the type of posts you wanted to see. Now they’ve taken away all of that, which makes this useless. Now it’s just not dog and cat app and there’s now no way to turn those posts off in your feed. How utterly annoying. No wonder nobody uses this app anymore.

App required to manage settings

I tend to use a web browser to access neighbors, due to all the data collected by this app. Now, Ring is forcing the use of this app by making it the only way to manage your neighborhood settings, as they crippled the website so that you're not allowed to manage settings without the app.

The posts are pretty much 95% lost pets, "is your internet out too", and "is your power out too", with a few "this guy is driving wrong" posts. Oh, and "was that a firework or a gunshot". Light off a roll of firecrackers and you'll get some "that was an automatic weapon " posts.

Strangely, there are very few posts about crime now, but there used to be tons of them.

All in all, Neighbors has become a pretty useless app.

If your white or appear to be white

This is the racist site. If your white or appear to be white. The cops are called on for anything But everyone else o that note a safety reason but everything else can be posted

Notifications still not working

Ive deleted the app and redownloaded it hoping the notifications will work but i still get nothing

Embarrassing app

Such ridiculous guidelines, you cannot describe an incident without them blocking the post as you CANNOT describe a person who is trespassing. Your Failures in this subject will never allow your app to be as good as it can potentially be.

It's not in the public interest

Our ring security cameras recorded a suspicious vehicle that was giving off high levels of infrared light that was the equivalent of floodlights we have a secondary security system that is looking in the normal visual spectrum this vehicle was driving in the dark I tried to report it to Neighbors for people to be aware of what's going on and like usual they said that I couldn't do that because I did not know what the intent of what the person was doing. This further escalated into a serious situation we contacted the FBI and local law enforcement was very agitated that the FBI was contacted. My devices do not use the service it appears they pick and choose who gets to their site and who doesn't and when it comes to national security these people can get a lot of Americans killed
