Amazing app-vastly improved

If you like Neil the app is a must. Has all his content in hi res plus hundreds of tracks unavailable elsewhere. Also all his videos and movies available to watch. The time line provides all of his content and books by date.

As a member you can write to Neil and he does answer letters in his own newspaper. Free limited access and only about $25 per year for so much entertainment and education. All members can get early access to his best seats with no markups.

Earlier versions were buggy but it now is much improved. Good customer support as well.

This app is a gift from Neil to his fans.

Too buggy to use

Keeps sending me back to App Store

NY Fans must have app!

The Neil Young Archives app and website are, without a doubt, among the most innovative platforms out there not just for Neil Young fans, but for anyone who wants to stay connected to the legacy and historic music Neil has given us over his lifetime. I have no doubt other artists with deep, culturally significant catalogues will follow this model.

The technology behind this platform is impressive, offering a seamless and immersive way to explore decades of music, history, and related content. The subscription is worth every penny, but even the free version is incredibly generous and accessible. As a Neil Young fan, I feel genuinely lucky to have such rich access to his work, stories, and archival treasures.

For music lovers, this is more than an app—it’s a living, breathing history of an artist whose influence runs deep.

Great app delivers great music

This does a great job bringing Neil’s music to me at the touch of button. All of Neil’s albums plus unreleased content. Now works on CarPlay flawlessly. Delivers in hi res so best quality on the web. The latest version adds zooming to the newspaper making it easier to read.

If you are a fan of his music get this. It even has his new $500 box set for streaming, while no other music site has yet.

Worthless

I downloaded the app and set up an account over a month ago and have tried to log in about 15 times total. Each time i get the spinning 45 center and then it takes me back to the login screen. Absolutely pointless.

App? What app?

Neil, I love ya, but please just take this app off the market until your team can make it work. I updated my OS and downloaded it again but it just won’t work. I enter my ID and password and it takes them, but then puts me right back at the log in screen. I was all set to subscribe to the NYA to listen to Neil on the go, but now I guess I’ll have to get a Tidal subscription.

Love Neil. App doesn’t work

Love Neil, but app doesn’t work. Paid a week ago and after trying every day since, still only have Free access on both desktop and app after re-downloading and “restoring subscription” a million times.

Terrible App

Apparently I made a huge mistake paying for this subscription through my at home laptop. The app often won’t allow me to login and claims that an error occurs when I try to login with my credentials. In the unlikely event I do get logged in without needing to go through the hassle of first changing my password, then the app doesn’t recognize I have a paid subscription and won’t allow me to stream the music I am paying for!! If I try to stream it from my web browsers on my phone it redirects me to add the app and won’t let me access the music that way either. And the tech support/contact us feature apparently goes to a black hole where no one ever responds. Absolutely terrible experience and I truly expect significantly better from Neil Young. This a a freaking joke.

App not working

As soon as the app opens I get a screen about login with a continue button, but nothing happens. Can’t get past this screen.

I can’t log in!

I had an account but hadn’t used it for a while. I suspect I signed in with Facebook. Now I’ve created an account with my email address I just get a message saying to tap CONTINUE and login with it, but tapping it does nothing.

Can’t access app

After logging in a pop-up appears explaining that Facebook and Google accounts are no longer valid and all accounts will be transferred to email-based. All well and good but when I select the Continue button at the bottom of the pop-up the pop-up doesn’t disappear meaning I can’t access any of the app. I’ve tried closing and reinstalling the app but still have the same issue.

Doesn’t work

Can’t get past the opening prompt. I hit continue and nothing happens. And there doesn’t appear to be any kind of support or help section, even on the website. I guess I won’t be subscribing.

Unusable

This used to work fine but now it won’t play anything apart from the song of the day.
Considering how much is the membership, it’s a shame, because the content is gold.
This seriously needs to be updated, asap.

Not Working

The app won’t play songs from nearly any of the albums.

Used to be great

In the last year when I click on some albums the app freezes and has to be closed. It’s always the same albums and it’s a significant number of them. To push the annual subscription up by a staggering 39% despite no app maintenance is disgraceful. Is this a tactic to push consumers toward Apple Music I wonder?

Can’t click continue when I open app

I can’t open the app. It has some prompt when I first sign in and I try to press continue but it doesn’t work. Useless….

Could be better

I’d like to give the app a higher rating, but it’s not accessible. A pop up about migrating gmail / FB comes up, and it does not respond when clicking continue.

Will not play

Hi this is my 3rd attempt at this app. I received an email from NYA saying it’s now available on iPhones/IPads I’ve paid my £38+ subscription only to be told I can’t listen to anything but song of the day. Please Apple what’s going wrong with this app? Mary

Bad bad bad

I used App on iPhone 13 - freezing screens, poor playback. Customer service is also poor. Requesting a refund. NYA app was great in the past. Nothing but disappointment now.

Love ya, Neil!

The archives are simply amazing. Phenomenal sound quality and there is just loads of history and info about Neil’s career. I will never regret buying a membership for this! The app can be a bit fussy at times, but that’s still no reason to knock a star off in my book. Keep rockin’ Neil!
