Every time I press the space bar I get emojiโs. Seriously?!

So how do I use this keyboard?
Neon keyboard seems to be useless, or perhaps the instructions need be enhanced. I followed the instructions what little there are of them and still can't get the keyboard into landscape mode. Any fix?
