Worst experience

I downloaded the app while travelling in Germany, but where I live the service isn’t even available. I genuinely believed I had cancelled the free trial, as I never used the app afterwards. I received no reminder before the annual renewal, only discovered the charge after it happened, cancelled immediately, and requested a refund the same day. Despite never using the renewed subscription, my refund request was refused. Very disappointing customer experience and subscription policy.

Do not download this app! I downloaded this app from TikTok very briefly, looked around and saw there were no food spots that I’m interested in, and I instantly deleted it. MONTHS LATER I had almost £40 deducted from my bank account, under NeoTaste, for a subscription I never signed up for. I don’t know how this could have even happened. I contacted their customer support to explain this and they’ve refused me a refund, telling me to ‘enjoy what the app has to offer’ which is absolutely nothing at all! And I never signed up for it in the first place…AVOID!!!

We’re sorry to hear about your experience. NeoTaste is a subscription-based service, and any charge is linked to an active account created during sign-up. If a subscription is not cancelled in time, it may renew as communicated in the app and during registration.

Awful customer service

Amazing app and a good concept, but I joined on the premise of a free trial. Despite only using it once I could see I would find it useful in the future so I cancelled a week or so before the trial end date and was going to renew at a later date. For whatever reason the cancellation hadn't happened even though I was told that I had. I was later charged around 35 for an entire years subscription. I reached out to customer support and was told by Jana I would not be eligible for a refund despite the error on the apps side. Despite multiple emails back and forth explaining my situation and how I had actually cancelled. I was refused a refund and any further help. Appalling customer service and I am currently £35 down and can't use the app since I am home from university currently and my home town is my not available on the app so cannot even take advantage of the app.
Won't be using again.

Fraud

State they will remind you of renewal after first free month, but do not….and then charge for an entire year. No customer support and “Beta” written all over the app. CON !!! Avoid !!!!

Misleading

Lured in with a free trial, then full payment for the year was taken out of my account without notice. Also no good deals on the app.

Unethical, self centred company.

NeoTaste is a perfect example of how to make money without caring whether your product is actually a good fit for the person paying.

The whole thing is built around a 30‑day “free” trial that auto‑renews into an annual subscription.

You only find out if the app is even useful after you’ve handed over your payment details.

In my case, I signed up, immediately realised there were no meaningful offers in my city, and stopped using it after the first day.

Weeks later, I discovered an annual subscription charge pending on my bank account. I cancelled as soon as I noticed, but the payment still went through.

When I contacted support, explained there’d been no real usage and that my cancellation came within hours of the auto‑renewal, they hid behind the T&Cs and flatly refused a refund.

That’s the part that feels genuinely unethical to me. The business model isn’t “build a great product and charge people who get value from it”; it’s “make cancellation and coverage unclear enough that people slip into paying for a year they don’t use”.

Once they’ve got your money, the attitude is basically: tough luck. 🙅‍♂️

Awful -scam

I for charged £35.88 because i didn’t cancel it. I didn’t even get an email or text saying my subscription is ending soon and I will be charged soon. £35.88 is a lot and I haven’t even used the app before. I have been scammed and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Very Disappointed and Poor Customer Service

I subscribed to a yearly membership in good faith, but my experience with NeoTaste has been very disappointing.

The app has shown inconsistent booking reset times. On one day it said I had to wait another day, and when I checked again later it still showed the same thing. This made the system feel unreliable and misleading.

I also noticed that the claimed savings shown in the app did not always match the actual savings available, which made me question how transparent the membership value really is.

Another issue is the referral reward. I recommended the app to a friend based on the advertised benefits, but I did not receive the reward as expected.

I contacted customer support to request help and discuss cancelling/refunding the remaining membership period, but I have received no reply. Lack of response is honestly the most frustrating part.

At this point I no longer trust the membership system or the way the benefits are presented. Compared with other dining apps, this one feels restrictive and not transparent enough. I hope the team takes this feedback seriously and responds.

Good deals but app needs work

I love the principle of this app and there are some good offers. The app is just really glitchy to use, especially in map mode, which is frustrating when you’re different areas and want to see what’s available locally. It seems to jump automatically to a particular restaurant or area and then remains stuck there. Also there was no reminder or heads up about charging for the app for a year after a trial period, that’s not great service.

A quick reinstallation or ensuring Precise Location is on in your iPhone Settings usually fixes this. Regarding the charge, we send in-app notifications before trials end to avoid spam filters. You can also manage or cancel any time via your Apple ID Settings (Name > Subscriptions). Such a great app, I hope less people use it so I get all the offers 😂

Doesn’t work

We tried 6 different places and all of them said they don’t work with Neo Taste anymore. The app needs to be better updated and not lie to people that they have so many option when actually they don’t. I wouldn’t waste my time honestly on this.

Not worth it in my opinion. It also said I can sign up to a free trial, said it will cost me £0 then charged me £1, obviously that’s not a lot but they shouldn’t be able to charge me when they said they wouldn’t and it showed as 0 that’s insane. I also cancelled it during my free trial and then when it ended I was charged anyway, I reached out to support and they said they’re unable to refund me, they were quite rude and dismissive of me saying I had cancelled it before it ended but they just ignored that and said they could not refund me, really upset about this, it feels very dodgy and scammy, do not trust, I will continue to try and get use out of it, but I probably won’t find it anyway, money grabbers that waste the money :(

Regarding the renewal, we always send an automated confirmation email the moment a cancellation is successfully completed. If you didn't receive this, the process may not have been finalized. Terrible app refused to refund me SCAM this app SUCKS

Most decent app would accept exceptions and refund customers if they cancelled immediately. I explained to them that as a student I cannot afford this app and it doesn’t cover the area I live in so it’s of limited use to me they STILL REFUSED to refund me. Absolute scam guys do not ever download this app.

Intentionally misleading - clearly a revenue build off of forgotten subscriptions (because of strategically difficult to check status of free trial) charged me for an annual plan after I didn’t cancel the subscription, would be easy if the subscription actually warned you 2 days in advance but it didn’t- perhaps because it logged me out (most likely intentional) do not recommend at all

Laggy app

Very laggy app. Subscriptions are not loading on my account. On my partner’s, impossible to cancel your subscription unless you reach out via email.

Just bad.

Paid service and half the features don’t work. Just bad.

Best schnitzel in London!

Amazingly sized schnitzels, all schnitzels were available gluten free, looking forward to coming back!
