It’s terrible
They force you to use their app to register your router when you reset the firmware, Then it doesn’t even work. I can’t install a different aftermarket os to even fix this anymore their proprietary software has locked me out and the app is god awful slow unusable
Consistently poor connectivity
I have used this router in normal mode and access point. It has poor range for a 3000 sq ft home and it consistently has “drops” in internet connectivity which spontaneously resolve. Very inconsistent and overall poor performance.
Fickle
The app constantly refuses to connect and offers very little advice to correct but even after all of their fixes it still wont connect even though all else functions correctly
Very fast but cumbersome to mod
The router itself is very quick and streamlined. The app is very simple and basic. Minimal adjustments can be made or information Land. You must access directly from a browser to get into the nitty-gritty and you can’t do it on the phones browser. Wish you had more options than the app.
Updates fix nothing !
You would think that when you push out an update to fix the bugs it would actually fix something, but it doesn’t. Still open the app, quickly indicates by 18 devices and then quickly pops to 0. Then can never open up the list of devices to show what they are. This has been going on for a couple of years now and it never get fixed.

Interface is very slow
I’ve used the app for several years. It’s very slow. Sometimes it’s completely non responsive. I would not recommend it.
Horrible with RAX200
I can never connect to my router and it took me 3 hours to add an extender because it couldn’t connect to the router!
Power outages
Every time I have a power outage, I have to redo everything to this modem or whatever it is

Been trying to renew for days but cannot get anyone to answer the support line. Totally disgusted with their support. I guess it’s time to replace my router with another brand!

Hot Garbage
Talk about over complicating something! It’s a router, just take my ISP internet and route it please. No, I have to download an app, create an account, agree to their EULA so they can sell my email and even then every single click in the app brings up the loading circle for 2-3 seconds. Took 30 minutes just to get it going, not even “customized”. Just silly. I switched to an EERO PRO 7 and what a refreshing difference. Simple, it just works. I’m returning this hot mess back to the store.

Upgraded to Nighthawk AX8
I just upgraded from a NETGEAR router to the NETGEAR Nighthawk AX8 Cable Modem Router DICSIS 3.1. Relatively easy for a non geek and it gave the option to retain my old network name & password so all of my devices could link up without any issues. Unit is sleek and powerful and has resolved our issue with our solar tracking Enphase system going off line.

They made complicated
added EAX 12 EAX 17 it was difficult finally got the EA 12 to work but I can’t add the EAX 17 no matter how many times I troubleshoot it no matter how many times I try to connect. The EAX 17 will not connect using the Nighthawk app. The Nighthawk app. Has constant glitches. I’m just not impressed.

Had this Nighthawk router since 2018. It updated once and that’s been about it. No way is it obsolete now update the firmware

Tried & tried again to get boost for providers router and can’t be the Netgear to register to my router. Your app makes it seem a bonus but delivery of performance is very disappointing!
