Nothing but Griftware

Why do I need an app? Why have Netgear removed access to my router from my mobile browser? Why do I have to provide my personal details to connect to an app to connect to my own router?

Answer: Because Netgear have become a data harvesting company and are slowly trying to make routers a subscription service! No thanks. I vote with my wallet.

Unreliable is the best thing about this app

Of all the mesh systems I have used, the Orbi system has the worst mobile app by far. Connecting to the routers takes forever, saving changes takes longer or doesn’t happen, and parental controls only stop some network traffic.
For the cost of these systems, they should at least be user friendly. Orbi is not.

Mediocre

I am using Orbi for last 5 years and coverage is not so great. It’s a small house but signal is very weak in the garage. Not worth the money.

Easy to use

App is easy to navigate and use. The actual Orbi device however could be improved

App doesn’t work.

Can’t find my Orbi RBR750, but system works???? Messed up. Can’t view connections. No help after contacting Help.

Poor app

Great hardware, disappointing app. The Orbi app is slow, inaccurate, and lacks many essential management features. It seriously needs an overhaul.

App crashed my wifi

Opened the app up to check on a device then my internet crashed on all my devices.

Inconsistent

I’ve had this router for quite some time and it just randomly goes through issues where it does not work properly. The mesh system does not even cover a large area like it says it does.

Difficult to set up

The Quickstart setup guide has not been as easy to understand to connect with the Netgear Orbi Wi-Fi system app. Need clearer step-by-step instructions on how to use the app.

Easy Set up

Best router yet, fast, superior coverage, easily handles multiple devices.

For this much money, the app sure is clunky

In 2026 I’m expecting better troubleshooting more than. ”cannot connect”

I can’t believe I spent this much money

Whether it’s the continuous nagging to subscribe to their different services anytime I want to use the app or much much worse, the abysmal resetting and more marketing than real mesh performance. This has been a multi hundred dollar mistake that I’m going to have to try to figure out how to undo.

Exceptional performance

My NetGear Orbi -WiFi home network system has been working exceptionally well since I installed it back in 2021. I can’t say enough great things about the system’s performance. I highly recommend it.

Needs improvement

This app gets the job done, but it’s very laggy. It needs to run smoother and faster, especially when navigating around the app.

Works but slow configuration process

Using iPhone 16, orbi app works on 770 series devices. It does seem quite slow in performing its tasks, however.

One note is installation on a MacBook Pro using version 27 public beta gets stuck when trying to enable location services. I don’t know why location services might be needed and perhaps I should just disable location services for orbi.

Worth the money

Spend the extra few bucks worth every penny fast speed easy set up you can’t go wrong with the WiFi 7 system

Works well but not plug and play

Replace old WiFi with Orbi mesh . Took some doing but now have one password access for whole house and office. Was on with Netgear help for several hours but finally got it working as intended

Optimization & Reacxh

All devices keep losing connection constantly

Beware if you need a daisy chain connection between nodes

The system is configured to a star pattern so if you have a long house and need each of the satellites to “daisy chain” then get another system, no where in the technical details do Nethear explain this.

Last Firmware Update Not Great

The latest firmware left my router crippled with phantom satellites. Unavailable to resolve even after a reset. Questionable software quality control?!?
