NetShade DNS is a utility app that encrypts your Domain Name Service (DNS) queries. This technology helps prevent marketers and hackers from tracking your online activity by securing your connection.
It uses DNS over TLS (DoT) to encrypt your DNS queries, similar to how HTTPS encrypts web traffic. This makes it difficult for eavesdroppers to see which websites you visit.
The app is free to download and use, offering basic privacy protection. It also provides optional in-app purchases for premium features, such as monthly or yearly subscriptions for NetShade Premium DNS.
NetShade DNS offers two subscription plans: a monthly plan for $3.99 and a yearly plan for $39.99, both providing NetShade Premium DNS features.
NetShade DNS is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod devices, and is suitable for users aged 4 and up.
The app was last updated on October 2, 2020, with version 1.0. Rayner Software, the developer, has a history of creating security software since 2003.
Based on the provided data, NetShade DNS does not contain advertisements.
DNS (Domain Name Service) translates website names into IP addresses. Traditionally, DNS queries are unencrypted, allowing others to see your browsing activity. Encrypted DNS, like that used by NetShade DNS, secures these queries.
