Drains Battery
I have had this app for a while and lately I’ve noticed my battery has been dying before the end of the day. Once I looked at my battery info this app was using 30% of my battery in the background EVEN THOUGH I have “background app refresh” off. Not sure what has changed but I deleted it. It was making me think I need a new phone even though my battery health is normal. I’ll wait for improvements.

Recent update
I like the hourly forecast but there needs to be a division at midnight so the new day is evident. Scrolling through the new hours format it is now causes one to lose track of which date it is.

Definitely having some issues all of a sudden with the app I can’t switch to the other areas where I check other locations. I don’t know what’s going on with the app. I even checked to see if it needed to be updated but it’s current version you guys need to fix this because you’re gonna go to weather and I go to app and what if there were bad storms and I can’t even check.

Why won’t app open?
APP has issues opening at times… freezing or some other issue but very inconvenient when a funnel is coming!!
Slow Radar
Please fix the radar. When trying to play it it’s much slower than it used to be.

The app was fantastic until they updated it now the radar doesn’t work properly anymore I’ve been using this app for years this update really messed with the radar

i did a software update to fix the radar because the radar crashes the app and the 3 day firecast was all 80% chances of vlowing snow 2 star
Channel 6 weather app:
I have had the channel 6 weather app for about 4 years and loved it. Then, a few days ago, as of 04/29/2025, it just quit working. I emailed the station got an answer that I would be hearing from you. Didn’t happen. With difficulty I called, got the news desk, the person transferred me to an extension. Got voice mail, left a message, no call back. A bunch of incompetent, uncaring people who refuse to take care of business. I am a retired nursery farmer owner. I could never have succeeded by doing business this way!

What do they predict?
Still trying to figure out if they tell us the weather or make stuff up. Weather information from this app is garbage. Cannot rely on it one bit.
Ads during severe weather are unacceptable
Please suspend ads during tornado warnings. More than once I’ve been in my shelter relying on the app video livestream only to have to wait for a video ad to play to get an update. This is maddening at a time when you are severely stressed and not at all receptive to a commercial offering. In fact, it does the complete opposite. Please fix this as a matter of public safety.

Newest update broke the video player
Read my title. Video player no longer goes into landscape mode. Videos play on top of other videos. Old app version never did this. It is honestly embarrassing this app is so broken now. You had one job, devs, and you broke your app.
Won’t open anymore
I have always sang the praises of this app. This has always been my go to app for weather, school closings, etc. when I can’t watch it on tv. Now for the last week, it won’t load, just buffers, however, all my other apps open just fine, including the other weather apps on my phone. I would really like my channel 6 weather app to work again.

Please fix the radar reflectivity
Current reflectivity is stuck when using the play button while also playing the past/future reflectivity. It doesnt happen everytime, but still an annoyance when it does happen. This has been broken for over a year now.
Weather ap.
I have this ap and glad I have others (from channels 2, 5, and 8). First, the radar looks like a cartoon. But more important the map shows only what the PAST weather was and then it zooms to “now”. I am really more interested in where the bad weather is going and not the past. I really like Channel 6 forecasters and this ap is a disappointment and not worthy of the expert meteorologists.

Ads during severe weather
If there is severe weather. This app makes you watch an ad. It’s ridiculous
Sucky.
Half the time the radar doesn’t load. There’s about to be tornados here and I can’t see the freaking radar!!
Some room for improvement
So the app itself could use some work. I find the layout to be confusing and distracting and it takes a little long to load, but other than that it’s fine!
