Not beginner friendly
Entire app and website is in Japanese, I don’t know how to navigate anything. I’m learning N5 and can’t read anything to figure out what to do. Add English!

Hard to use. I can’t download the translations. I want to study, not to play with an app.
Change the app developer
Change the IT developer please. Completely ignoring the users’ feedback. The same problem is reviewing 8 months ago, and nothing has changed. How can I study like this? Ever crash! Before lunching the app, you should test it on your phone. How annoying the bugs are. :’(

I just paid for 6 month of the courses and within the first hour of watching the material I’ve had to refresh the app multiple times. The content is great but when it comes to watching on full screen and rewinding or forwarding the video it often tweaks. アプリがバグれすぎ！

Brilliant content! But the UI is a little buggy
What I love best about Nihongo no Mori is the style of content.
It feels like how Internet content used to be in the 2010’s. (Possibly because that’s when it was created?) In any case, the content feels real, well presented, sparingly edited because the presenter knows their stuff and got it right in one take. It feels trustworthy. I like the presenter’s personality and energy.
I just started studying for N3, and for this level I’ve started studying in Japanese only. This content is brilliant for that. It works very well as “comprehensible input”, I can understand about 90% of what is said, and the rest is filled in by context. So you’re practicing your listening and reading skills, and both acquiring and learning the language at the same time - covering many bases all at once.
I use the app on iOS on a 10” iPad, and the only complaint I have so far is that the UI is a little buggy. Specifically, if I watch a video in full screen to the end, and let the next one autoplay, the UI gets stuck in landscape mode with no way to get back to the main menu. I’m forced to quit the app and start again. Fixing this bug would improve the experience and would give this app 5 stars.

全画面を見る時バグはいつ直しますか
全画面で講義を見て、次の話に進む時に一般画面に切り替えると、画面が壊れて強制終了し、再びアプリを実行しなければなりません iPhone、アンドロイド全部こうなんですね。 ちょっと直してくださいよ とても不便です 2年間講義視聴中です

Guter Content, schlechte App
Die Videos sind schon gut gemacht und darauf kommt es am Ende auch an, aber die technischen Mängel der App sind störend. Ich kann z.B. ein Video nicht stoppen und zur Liste zurückkehren. Nach dem Vollbildmodus muss ich die App neu starten, weil die Ui kaputt ist. Es wird immer sofort das nächste Video angespielt und ist dann auch direkt als „done“ markiert, obwohl man nur Sekunden geschaut hat. Den „done“ Status entfernen geht auch nicht.

App dev ngu
App méo gì dev ngu vãi chưởng. Cơ chế lưu token như thế nào cũng làm không tới nữa :)) nội dung khoá học thì k bàn tới nhưng mà trải nghiệm người dùng thì nói chung là tệ. Đã k biết quản lý token oauth2 rồi thì đừng cố nhét chức năng đăng nhập bằng google hay facebook vào. Cứ vuốt ra là mất mẹ nó token phải đăng nhập lại , đội dev này chắc học hết lớp 3 à. Cả cái web cũng v , chắc dùng con bà nó token của bên google facebook để quản lý login :)) có tiền thì thuê đội nào cải thiện lại cái app dùm cái. Report thẳng lên cho nhân viên rồi còn méo biết cải thiện, chán vãi nồi

Frustrating features
You have to log in every time you open the app; if you even lock your screen, you have to log in again. I wish moritan was in a flash card format rather than in a list. I like the content, but I’d rather use the website on a computer.

ただ、ダウンロードしてから今まで気になったのは、どうして別のアプリに切り替えると(例えば、日本語辞書アプリ、その他)、日本語の森アプリに戻って「接続が切れました」、「リトライ」のエラーが発生しています。特にインターネットの接続は問題がないのに、こうなっています。対策としてはいつもアプリを完全に閉じてから起動することにしていますが、不便なので、確認してもらえれば幸いです！今まで、めっちゃ楽しくて毎回同じエラーが起きると勉強に大変になるかもしれません。

無法順利使用
舊的iPhone 在登入時會卡在username 設定只能輸入一個字，新iPhone則是app沒有適應螢幕尺寸，會影響返回或是全螢幕畫面操作，但內容看得出來很用心，期待優化UI/UX。
