Students Love NinGenius
As a Piano studio teacher I have found NinGenius to be a wonderful learning tool. Not only does it help with the learning of notes and rhythm it has proven a wonderful motivator for getting students to concentrate in lessons. I often have students at the beginning of their lesson say “can we do some NinGenius today?” and of course I reply “if you concentrate we will have time”. It is 1 of the 2 most favourite apps used in my Studio and I use a lot of apps.

Fantastic!

Horrible
It keeps on booting me out of the app and saying I need to have this app downloaded. It also keeps on making You have never had this in you history in a box pop up
Expensive
The app is good in as much as it tests your knowledge with regard to which keys to press. You choose your instrument at set up and then decide whether to play easy medium and so on. It looks like you can play with friends. However I think once you get to genius that's it...So I have only given it two stars compared to other apps on the market it is very expensive at 9.99 and appears to only teach the fingering.

Great Improvements
I'm happy to see the latest update to this app, which will allow me to create Custom Sets / Levels! This will be a great way to review staff reading with students when school begins again.

I love this app. My students are anxious to play it when they arrive for lessons. It would have a 5 star from me if I could choose the notes I need them to drill. This is especially helpful to beginning students. Thank you for this app...it is worth the purchase!!
Keeps kids interest as they learn
I love this app for my students. It keeps them engaged and focused as they learn their notes. I also agree with another review who appreciates the note drills are for keyboard recognition and also note name recognition. Having both features is great.

Great App for older students!
This App is awesome. My students like the Ninja and action when playing. My younger students- this is the majority of my studio- cannot play this well at all as they are just beginning to learn bass clef. In developing this App in the future, would it be possible to add a note/clef range choice as in FlashDerby or NoteWorks Apps for my younger students. My Fall theme is Piano Karate and this App fits right in. Thanks so much!!!

Exciting new way for my students to learn their notes!
This app is an exciting new way for piano students to learn their stave notes.
I do use flash cards (and other apps) but I think this app gives a motivation to learn even more quickly.
Starting at an easy level, this matures the student (both younger and older) from just five notes (C to G) for each hand, through to notes on up to three ledger lines on both treble and bass clef.
I have a studio with over 50 students and they love to see if they can beat their scores.

Clever and cool app for piano students—and as the teacher, I like its features!
I downloaded the Studio Version and selected piano as my instrument. As stated before, with a Studio Version, one must declare which instrument at set-up. Not a problem for my piano studio! I think they have a quality product here, and I first learned about it from a review by Jennifer Foxx. She is also a piano teacher, and I subscribe to her blog and Facebook page. I took a look because she reviewed it, but now I want to help spread the word! A lot of my students are on summer break now, so I’m not seeing them regularly, but I will be building this into my plans for the new school year. Of course I love that it calculates their accuracy %, but the thing I can’t wait for my students to see (besides the fact that it’s FUN), is that their average time spent answering each question is also calculated. This will be hard for them to ignore (how slow they can be), and hopefully students will care enough to slash those response times and even have some friendly competition among others their age in the studio. That “uh” lag in response time has a price, and speed in answering has perks, such as Speed Bonus Points AND improved sight-reading in the real world. High scores board, too, for each level of difficulty, so someone could be a star on Easy, even though he/she is not ready to be a speed demon on the most advanced level. One other cool thing--the instructor has a password to get into the player history, so no little shyster can go in and erase his scores or change names around. A teacher (actually band director) was part of the development team on this one, and it shows. For piano, students either name notes or they select the “fingering” option, which in our case means to match up the note shown to one of 3 keyboard graphics shown at the bottom of the page. There is one key marked on each keyboard. Students must not only choose the correct key on the keyboard that matches the note above, but they must sort and eliminate the 2 incorrect choices of the 3 possibilities shown. One final caveat: I have an older iPad 2 that had the bare minimum version of iOS 7.0, and at first I had some difficulty. Upgrading my iOS took care of my problems right away. :)

It's so fun & a great exercise for note recognition. I like that students don't only have to recognize the note name but also must locate it on the keyboard. The ninja theme is perfect for boys & girls.

Great for teaching fundamentals
This is a fantastic app for helping students with the basics of note names and fingerings. A must for any studio teacher. This only allows for one instrument, so all your students have to use the same instrument. If you need more get the school version. I love how students use this to solidify their knowledge of the basics. Also, the levels work great to help the student work their way up, not just expecting them to already know it all like some other apps. Fantastic!
