It’s too much
I had planned a camping trip to Kerikeri this weekend. Your weather forecast looked fine for camping when I checked yesterday and this morning. However, upon arrival, I found that the wind was much stronger than indicated, and there were frequent showers, even when I checked your app directly. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my plans and lost $240 from my booking.

Very poor
When you open the app, it takes you to the forecast for some hours ago. Just now I fresh launched the app, it’s 6pm but it takes me by default to today’s 2pm forecast?! What use it showing the weather from 4 hours ago by default. Hopeless. This bug has been in place for a long time now with no fix in sight

This is the first time anyone has reported this, we’ll look into it right away. In the meantime, the screen is interactive so you can simply tap on the time you want the forecast for.
NIWA website is superior
UI feels the definition of form over function. Weather stations that are available on their website aren’t in the app. The on board map is so plain it’s difficult to find precise locations. Maybe minor gripes for some so I would still say give it a download and try it out for yourself.

Terrible clunky interface
I really dislike the UI of this app. It's a prime example of unskilled UX designers trying to be smart but fail miserably at providing a solid user experience.

Excellent app, it just needs CarPlay support so it shows up on in-car head units with CarPlay.

Not intuitive and lacks information
I find this app quite unintuitive to use, and the design isn’t the best I’ve ever seen. But the worst thing is that the forecast presented lacks extremely important information, such as the alerts shown on the website. I will therefore continue to use the website instead of the application because it is useless.

Can’t even get immediate weather correct, let alone what’s happening tomorrow.

Easy to understand
Love that it has everything in one ‘bowl’ pretty accurate.

Simple, easy to use and accurate. The data is presented simply and without any unnecessary clutter. It has a good amount of customization.
