Great app, missing one major feature
Unusable when weak internet
I tried NoRoads app after meeting the guys at Overland Expo. At first I liked NoRoads, but I quickly discovered that without internet the app is 100% useless. When I was hiking in mtns without good internet (1 bar of cellular), NoRoads would not let me use it at all because it gets stuck at Logging In.
What? NoRoads only works on major paved roads?? Sadly, w/o solid internet this app is a non-starter. When I returned to civilization their tech support was responsive and sympathetic.
If NoRoads can enable a true offline mode (also considering areas of weak internet), I would be happy to try it again. Deleted.
Response from developer
Hi there, Thanks for trying No Roads at Overland Expo and for the detailed feedback. We're sorry the login issue frustrated you in low-connectivity areas - that's exactly where the app should work best. Good news: we've fixed the login bug you experienced. The app now works with minimal connection and is built for remote adventures like your mountain hikes. We recommend saving maps for offline use to ensure they work regardless of connection strength. Just select any area and save it for offline access - you can choose any size. This guarantees you can navigate without any connection at all. No Roads is designed specifically for off-road adventures, not just paved roads. We'd love for you to give it another try now that we've addressed the offline login issue. If you have questions, reach out to support@noroads.app. Happy trails, The No Roads Team
