Uses AI voice

Sick of listening to AI voices everywhere.

Keep it up!

Awesome!!! Great news ingestion. Used the human filter (could make it part of onboarding). (btw saw article restart b/c I triggered third-party app dictation while it was reading.) Read along is really neat. Would help to see full article in a frame with the original formatting and any assets. Thank you!

Day two of trying the app, updating my review. Listening to humans read the MIT review and Bloomberg, etc. is essentially perfect. If I could see the whole article, kind of like Microsoft Edge Immersive Reader, then the app would be also perfect when I'm sitting down and want to read along. I know this is a big ask because even the native iOS functionality is buggy, and Edge is far from perfect too (also privacy leak to MS). Publishers, I hope you would appreciate us being able to see the article like it was meant to be seen!

Some of the narrators you could listen to for hours for sure.

PS: is my data ever used for anything besides delivering the service?

No way to register

What a joke of an app! First with all the questions like it’s Ticketmaster looking for ways to spam me. Nope, I just want to listen to FP without all the Noa bugs. But… there’s no way to create an account with Noa. That’s odd if not a terrible bug. Whatever. I don’t need it. ProPublica and FP work better than this junk app.

Misleading

I found out about this app due to listening to articles in New York magazine. To my surprise, there are no New York magazine articles in the NOA app. To listen to any content, I would have to sign up for a paid account, even though I already pay for a news subscription. All I wanted was to be able to find narrated articles in one spot for New York magazine, and this is definitely not that. Waste of time, and disappointing.

News Across the Spectrum

Been listening to NOA for a couple of years now, and really like how comprehensive the selection is. I like the range of articles, across the areas of my own selected interests. I find the material ranges from quite detailed to great summary or overviews. Also it is very timely and current, with important takes on current events and situations. All in all a very solid app.
