No Longer Working

The app no longer downloads METAR information. I have used this app with pleasure for several years on iPhone and iPad. Suddenly, about two weeks ago, it stopped downloading both current and predicted weather for all of my starred airports. I have tried updating but that didn’t help.

Nice app but…

This is a nice app and I’ve had it for several years. Now I just notice a problem. For KACY and KPHL the barometric pressure is being report as 758.161 inches of HG. This wrong. The correct unit of measure should be 758.161 mm of HG. If you use inches of HG it should read 29.82 inches of HG. I don’t know if this just started but it needs to be corrected. The standard unit of measure in the US and Japan is inches of Hg. The rest of the world uses hectopascals, hPa or millibars, mb.

Once good, now deteriorating.

This was once a great app but its performance is deteriorating. It is meant to provide easy access to METAR reports and TAF forecasts together with translations. However the TAF reports are now being cut off halfway, and there are errors in the translation. Developers do not respond to bug reports.

Great app, sick of the pop-ups

Such a great tool for quickly getting metars and other weather information. After buying the app and giving it a 5-star rating, I thought I would stop being constantly hounded to rate or write a review. So now every time I get a pop-up, I will reduce my rating by 1 star.

I use this as an additional quick reference source, mostly for TAF information. To have the METAR and TAF deciphered makes it quick and simple to read.

I use this for quick reference before flying it’s great for checking vfr ifr conditions as a helicopter pilot.

Nice app for pilots

This app makes short work of finding the current airport weather in both coded and uncoded formats. I have my favorite airports in the list that comes up as you open in app, and have the ability to lookup any airport I need to as well. The TAF is right there too at the push of a button. I even use this app to check current weather when I'm not planning on flying anywhere. I would recommend this app to my fellow pilots. It sure makes finding aviation weather much easier than it used to be.

Much Improved

The app developer responded quickly in eliminating some program defects.
Previously, location mapping was not working properly, in a matter of days, the program was updated and the bugs corrected.
