About

nogoe — no onion, no garlic, no egg Finding somewhere to eat, or something to buy, without onion, garlic or egg shouldn't take an hour of phone calls and label reading. nogoe is a community database of restaurants, dishes and packaged foods, built by people who eat this way and report what they found. Built for Swaminarayan and Jain families, and anyone who eats satvik. WHAT WAS REPORTED, AND HOW WELL IT'S SUPPORTED Every answer about onion, garlic and egg comes with how it is known: • Restaurant confirmed — the staff or the restaurant gave the answer • From the packaging — backed by a photo of the ingredients label • Community verified — two or more members independently agree • Community reported — one member's report so far • Needs verification — the newest report is over a year old • Conflicting — members disagree, and nogoe says so You see who reported it, when, and how many people agree. Counts are people, not posts. EXPLORE AND MAP • Places near you, with the three answers on every card • Search by name, dish, cuisine or city • Filter by ingredient, by how well an answer is supported, by cuisine, and by vegetarian, vegan or Jain-friendly • A clustered map with "search this area" for planning a trip • Call, get directions or open the restaurant's website in one tap PRODUCTS: SCAN AND CHECK Standing in a shop? Scan a barcode or search a packaged food and see the nogoe Check: onion, garlic and egg, each shown as No, Contains, May contain or unknown, with how it is known and when it was last checked. Products you saved or looked up recently still open when there's no signal. ADD WHAT YOU FOUND Share a visit in a few taps: what you ate, what the kitchen could leave out, and whether you asked the staff. Add a place, a dish or a product. Photograph an ingredients label and nogoe reads the text on your device and suggests answers for you to review. Confirm or correct what others reported. An account (Sign in with Apple, or email) is only needed to contribute. Browsing, searching, scanning and saving never need one. ASK THE RESTAURANT Hand over the Ask Card: a full-screen NO ONION · NO GARLIC · NO EGGS request in English and in the language of the kitchen — Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Spanish, Italian, French, Greek, Portuguese, Gujarati and Hindi. Or copy a ready-written message, call, or open the restaurant's website. ON YOUR HOME SCREEN A widget with the newest places, Siri shortcuts, restaurants in Spotlight search, and optional alerts when the community adds places near you. Made for iPhone and iPad. KEPT HONEST BY ITS MEMBERS Report anything that looks wrong and block anyone you'd rather not hear from. Moderators review every report, and every contributor agrees to the community guidelines. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Free. No ads. No tracking. Your location is used to search near you; it is never stored and never attached to your account. Your email is never shown to anyone. Anonymous usage statistics can be switched off in Settings. nogoe shows what the community has reported. It does not decide what is right for you. Kitchens change recipes and manufacturers change ingredients without warning. Always confirm with the restaurant before ordering, and always check the package before buying.

What's New in nogoe

2.1

October 25, 2026

nogoe 2.1 makes better use of bigger and foldable screens. • On iPad and on iPhone Duo's large display, the map shows its list of places beside the map, and a restaurant's page opens in two columns: the answers on one side, the dishes and what members reported on the other • On a half-folded iPhone Duo, the map, restaurant pages and the Ask Card keep everything clear of the fold • Every toolbar button stays visible when iPhone Duo shows its bars down the side of the screen • Fixes: a restaurant's rating at the largest text sizes, a blank gap in the place card on the map, the name field when adding a place by pin at large text sizes, and forms that a stray tap could close on a large screen
