Great prices and features

Nomad is a great ride share app with prices that for me have been up to 40$ less than Uber or Lyft. It’s always reliable with its prices even when there’s a surge with them. One of the great features of Nomad is the favorite driver feature, you can get in contact with a driver from the past that you have liked and set up a ride with them!

What happened

When i first started using nad rides it was great ! I could always get a ride and it wouldn’t take that long to get connected . Now it’s always 1-3 drivers on and they never accept anyones rides . I was waiting for a ride for hours just to get home from work from being stranded there. Poor management, app going down , great price , horrible app .

Navigation is Faulty

After a month of using nomad rides, my biggest problem isn’t the limited driver pool, but rather how the navigation system does a poor job of actually recognizing your location and address and communicating that information accurately and efficiently to the driver. This has caused me to be late several times, to no actual fault of the driver’s themselves. No arrival estimation or tracking towards the destination also makes planning and communicating my trips more difficult as well.

Stole my card information

Took a ride in Indianapolis late Saturday night and woke up to 3 unknown charges in Bloomington (where the company started) for gas and McDonalds. Totaling near $50. My card is still in my possession and I haven’t used the card on any other purchases since that day. If anyone from the business is reading this, I would recommend you update the security on your payment records to avoid anyone else getting money stolen from them on a ride they nearly lost their life on.

Good , but disappointing

It would could so much better , but honestly it’s stressful. The app itself I love. The drivers are great but honestly it’s not enough. Also I’ve had two drivers completely mess up my ride and no pay attention which caused me to be late to work. The lack of attention is annoying. I like nomad but I’ll stick with the extra couple dollars and just pay Uber.

FAQ

What is Nomad Rides?

Nomad Rides is a ridesharing service that operates on a commission-free model. This means drivers keep 100% of the fares they earn. The app aims to provide a safe, superior, and fun transportation experience for riders while offering drivers a better earning potential.

How does the commission-free model work?

In a traditional rideshare model, a percentage of the fare goes to the platform. With Nomad Rides, drivers receive the entire fare paid by the rider, making it more lucrative for them and potentially more affordable for riders.

Is Nomad Rides available in my city?

Nomad Rides is currently available in several locations across the United States, including Bloomington, Indiana; Indianapolis, Indiana; Champaign-Urbana, Illinois; Gainesville, Florida; State College, Pennsylvania; and Athens, Georgia. The service is expanding to more locations.

Can I choose my driver?

Yes, Nomad Rides allows you to match with your favorite drivers. After completing a trip, you can select your preferred drivers, and you can request them personally for future rides, offering a more personalized transportation experience.

What are the typical costs for a ride?

Rides within the campus vicinity typically cost around $5.50, with the entire amount going to the driver. For trips outside the campus area, additional fees may apply, which will be communicated to the rider.
