An anxiety app that causes anxiety
I reached out to them. They said that users have complained. But they “love their mascot”.
Their planned fix is a neutral app icon, but what about the globs of eyeballs waiting inside the app?
It makes you wonder about their supposed mission if this simple thing is the hill they want to die on.
Good luck choosing a mascot over the sensitive population you claim to want to serve.
Getting an app developed & launched with enough users is hard enough. You’d think they’d want to reduce user friction as much as possible. But I guess not.
They lock a bunch of stuff behind an extremely expensive subscription

Hello, and thank you for the feedback. NoPlex is completely free to use, so I get the sense there may have been a misunderstanding. If you didn't have a chance to explore the app, it's easy to mistake our optional upgrade screen for a required paywall, but it isn't. NoPlex is designed to grow with you, and until you're ready for more advanced features, the core experience remains free. Our annual NoPlex+ plan works out to about $6/month. We understand that isn't the right fit for everyone, which is exactly why we offer a free version that includes the vast majority of the app's functionality. Some of the features included with NoPlex+ are: * A 1:1 onboarding session * Creating tasks directly from screenshots and photos * Unlimited tasks, recurring tasks, and routines * Up to 25 Supporters to keep you accountable * Web access so you can use NoPlex from anywhere * ...and more I hope this helps clear things up. You also have an open invitation to chat with me. If you'd like to discuss your experience or your goals, I'd genuinely love the opportunity. Thank you for your time.

Hello - thanks for trying out NoPlex. To be clear we do maintain a completely free version of NoPlex to use forever. Our NoPlex+ subscription page that you encountered is optional as well. We do offer more features with our paid NoPlex+ subscription but again it is optional. I am hopeful that you even tried NoPlex before rating it one star. If you would consider trying NoPlex again I would be happy to talk with you more about what unique opportunities we provide and how we far surpass the Notes app. Look forward to talking with you soon.
Terrible App

Hello - thank you for trying NoPlex. We have further investigated this and do apologize if any of our notifications were missed. We utilize daily notifications and emails combined with the Apple warning message prior to being charged. A full refund has been issued via Apple. You can use NoPlex for free and hope you continue to do so. We would be happy to talk with you further to ensure you are set up for success. Look forward to hearing from you.

Game changer
This app is not ADHD friendly
In a truly ADHD friendly app, reminders would be customizable. (Like phone alarms, you should be able to choose different sounds/visuals for different tasks.) Reminders in this app are actually LESS customizable than in other productivity apps.
This app is attractive but it is actively worse for the population it claims to help than competing apps. A huge disappointment.

Hello and Thanks for sharing your concerns — nothing’s worse than a less-than-stellar review with no additional context. We sincerely appreciate the detail. NoPlex approaches tasks differently from the apps you’re likely used to. Due dates are great when a task has a hard deadline (because, for example, the app will warn you); however, the focus is on defining your intentions for a given day by adding tasks to your Horizon regardless of their due dates. That’s a bit of a paradigm shift, but one that users truly love once it clicks. If you were to use every possible task feature, it would indeed require a few steps; that’s unavoidable. However, NoPlex empowers you to record tasks faster and in fewer steps than other apps. You can simply add a title and swipe down to save. Done. We call that the “traffic light test” — being able to have an idea and record it at a red light before it changes. We hope you’ll stick with it, and we welcome additional feedback as you become more familiar with it.
