Months ago this was working well. Suddenly it stopped giving current data for Bz Kp etc. it is virtually useless.

As of Jun 2026 locations no longer work. If you are in the Southern Hemisphere you cannot see data relevant to your location.
Whomever owns this app couldn’t give a toss as can be seen by not just the lack of maintenance of the app, but also the lack of interest in responding to users who have left bad reviews because the product doesn’t work.

This app, as of Feb 2025 has become unworthy of a price tag.
Notifications literally don’t function in any productive way. Alerts constantly for conditions clearly not conducive to aurora, and then no alert when conditions are right. Handy for the current oval. That’s about it these days. Don’t part with money for this app.

Used to be excellent, but in the past year appears to be no longer maintained. Fully paid but the only alerts I get are random, outside the parameters set, and when there is no chance of aurora. No alert comes anymore when there is aurora. Missed a big one last night. No alert. The map has been stuck on daytime for a few days. The whole thing feels like an abandoned ship really. Not sure if this is still a functional app.

Unreliable. Keeps crashing and will not get alert when you need it
This app did not open for more than 5 days when it was a prime time. It doesn’t even give heads up or anything, if this was maintainence outage, to their paid customer. Such an unacceptable service level. WASTE , don’t trust this app for your once in lifetime opportunities to be missed because of their incapability. If there was -ive star I would have given that

Crashes
I relied on it a lot-until very recently, now it crashes on opening on all my devices . I’ve deleted and reinstalled-doesn’t help. What happened?

Crashed
App crashes immediately on launch, and the developer website also shows “Error establishing a database connection,” so there is no working support contact. Please update/fix the app. I prefer this app over other aurora apps, but it is currently unusable.

The app has been great but it currently crashes as soon as it’s opened. There’s no other way to get in touch to provide this feedback so I’m using the review option

This was my favorite app. Then yesterday it wouldnt load up propery, just blank for the first couple of days on the extended list so i did the usual cleared my cache, restarted my fone, checked for an app update and nothing worked to improve the problem. So i deleted the app to reinstall it but when i go to reinstall it, instead of “install” it says “open” like its already downloaded on my fone. Its not downloaded because i deleted it. Now it just crashes right away if i tap “open”. I tried to look at it on my ipad and it shows the first main page but when i click for the extended view it crashes. Whatever is going on please fix it!

It used to be great, now it crashes as soon as it opens.
EXTREMELY inaccurate
This app used to be pretty accurate and was great. The past 6 months or so it has become extremely inaccurate. Currently shows my cloud cover 10% but it is 85-90%. Horizon 32% but absolutely nothing. Everything is extremely off. This app needs seriously worked on or it’s going to lose most of its users. I’ll check back occasionally to see if the issues are corrected because I used to love the app. However, in its current state, I’ll be using a different northern lights app.

Bugs, bugs, and more bugs
The KP rating is almost always at zero ever when I'm looking at the lights. The horizon/above probability is actually pretty accurate but the cloud cover is always wrong. At it's core it's a actually good app but it's covered up with a buggy software surrounded by microtrasactions. But you don't have to get them if you don't want alerts but the app is literally called AuroraAlerts. Overall not terrible but definitely could use some fixing up

The information listed is very informative but if you don’t understand what the data means it doesn’t really help you understand what you’re looking at.
Poor updates/refreshing
I can never get the app to update to reflect real time. So for short forecast I am stuck with information from an hour ago and it won’t refresh.
