We kept a household budget for decades, but gave up Quick Books years ago because it became too time consuming to keep in good order. We were anxious that we weren’t tracking expenses, but did not want to go with another accounting system program. With the Mobile App that NSB uses, we are able to easily categorize expenses directly within our checking and savings accounts and are again able to track our money and spend it where it makes the most difference for us.

Well I do love the easy access to my acct info but I have had a couple issues that caused me to lower my rating. Staff is super nice and accommodating they removed the fee that was added to my acct but I’m still super confused how this error could even occur. Most of the time my transfers go through but once in a while I get screwed over and can’t access my money or acct till app catches up to real life

Poor compared to competitive bank apps
Clunky to make a simple check deposit, compared to competitive banks apps... This should be considered high priority by a bank. As an example, check out TD Bank’s app for this function.
Great and useful app
Thanks NSB. It is marvelous to be able to do banking this way and be confident that all the balances and activity are up to date. The ability to do e-deposits of checks is an awesome addition.

Okay app - difficult to navigate
I like that many features are available to me to move money and check balances. The bank ledger like Activity is helpful in showing the balance on each step. However, the app is hindered by what I call old school bank thinking. I also have access to apps from the big dogs - and there is untapped potential.
This app is slow to load and has features that are difficult to find. For example I setup auto pay for my mortgage. The amount changed and I had to call customer service to help find where the settings were. It was in a non intuitive spot. You’d think it was under scheduled transfers. Nope. And when I changed the value it immediately made an extra payment. Several features launch into what appears to be some other website.
It works and has been solid / no malfunctions. I like how easy it is to transfer money to other accounts- and it is immediate if the account is in the same bank.
