Tuner & metronome for strings

About
A tuner and metronome built for violin and string instruments — and an ear trainer that plays a real violin, not a beep. Around them, the practice tools a working player uses: a note trainer, a reading trainer, recordings you can hear back as notes, set lists and a practice log. Free, no account, and no data collected.
TUNER
Compatible with: violin, viola, cello, double bass, mandolin, guitar, ukulele and banjo, with the cross-tunings old-time players use (AEAE, GDGD, DDAD, DADGAD, open G and more). A steady needle in cents, a reference A from 415 to 446, and a drone shaped like a bowed string so you can tune by ear as well as by eye. Pure-fifths tuning for the open strings when you want it.
METRONOME
Subdivisions, accents, and a tempo climb for building speed. The click keeps going with the phone locked, and the lock screen has the controls.
READ
Graded sight-reading exercises with a fingerboard that shows where each note lives. Wait mode holds until you play the right note; Play-through scores each bar and tells you what you missed. Transpose to any key.
NOTE TRAINER AND EAR TRAINING
Read a note on sight and play it — the app hears whether you got it. Intervals and scale degrees over a held tonic, sounded on a recorded violin, not a beep.
RECORDINGS
Record a rehearsal, a lesson or a take against the click. Ask the app to listen and it reads the recording back as key, tempo, chords and the top line — a suggestion to check against your hands, not a fact — and exports the notes as MIDI to GarageBand or anywhere else. Deleted takes wait in a bin for thirty days.
CAPTURE
Play a tune and get it written down: notation, tab for your instrument, and suggested chords.
SET LISTS AND PRACTICE LOG
A running order for the night with keys, singers, tempos and chord sheets, and a log that fills itself as you practice.
PRIVACY
Everything runs on the phone. The microphone is analyzed live and forgotten; a recording is written only when you press record, and it stays on your device until you delete it or share it yourself. No account, no analytics, no ads. The ear trainer's violin is recorded, public-domain audio inside the app, not a stream.
Made by one person for the players in his own band. Built for iPhone and iPad, with VoiceOver and Dynamic Type throughout.
