Love this app, but lack of updates is starting to worry

We’ve been using Notabli for nearly 10(!?) years at this point and it has served us well. Private, we own the content, and not an ad to be seen anywhere. Pretty easy to get the family setup and convince them to stay away from Instagram when the platform works so similarly. So I have been more than happy to pay the annual subscription fee. We would love it if Notabli could continue to grow with our kids. But the updates have slowed to a crawl over the past couple years and while we don’t typically encounter bugs, it would be nice to see some UX polishes to keep up with iOS at the least and feature parity with the popular ad-supported options at best. There really aren’t a lot of options out there if you want to stay away from shady Terms of Service or ad tracking, so we will continue to support Notabli for as long as it exists, but we hope the app we love can get some attention every once in awhile!

Wonderful and easy

This makes creating photo albums so easy! It’s all automatic. Plus I can share photos without worrying about facial recognition, likes from 1000 Facebook friends, etc.

Just clear, concise, curated photos, videos, and clips!

Can’t say how much with love this app!

If you have a young child in your life, this app is a wonderful piece of the puzzle. How do you record those spontaneous moments and utterances so you’ll remember them in 5 years much less 5 minutes? How do you share them with your loved ones and nobody else? I am so glad we stumbled upon this app in its early days and used it diligently when our son was younger. My only request would be that the app developer partner with someone to make books out of the material we’ve uploaded so that we can store the material offline forever.

Glad you're enjoying Notabli! We do offer printed book subscriptions — pick the kids, turn on auto-printing, and we'll automatically print and ship every 50 photos. We plan to expand our book offerings and add more customization in the future. Thanks!

No way to contact support

I've been using this app for such a long time now and am a paid up subscriber but they must have closed down without notifying anyone. There's no way to contact supposrt and there's been no response to my request t downlaod my moments archive for over a week.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP.

Certainly don't be a fool and pay for it like I did.

Sudden subscription requirements

This app was great until suddenly, after two years of use, I’m being asked to pay a pretty hefty subscription to upload anything besides photos. Pretty annoyed I can’t just continue using this app. Will have to switch to another one.

Totally understand why this was surprising after using the app for a while. The core experience — keeping up with family and posting photos — remains free. Paid plans were added later for additional features outside of that in order to support the costs to run Notabli.

Why do I need to pay all of a sudden?

Been using this for 4 years now all of a sudden I have to pay to upload videos. Not cool. Will find something that’s less buggy.

As an ad-free service that prioritizes user privacy, offering a paid upgrade option for those who want to post videos and other moment types allows our small team to keep the service running and improving.

Have to pay now

We’ve used this app for 3+ years. My sister has used it for longer.

We both love it because we don’t wanna throw all these pics and videos on Facebook and we want grandparents to be able to see the kids grow.

Recently an update changed it so that all we can do is photos and not videos. I’m pretty upset about that because there’s no other way to send my grandmother videos.

I’ll still recommend it but I’m only giving two stars due to the need to pay now.

Amazing

So happy with Notibli. Been using it for 5 years now and it’s the only way to keep family and friends updated with kid photos. The email updates are key and I love that is just family vs social media.

Love this app!!!

Notabli is the only place I feel good about posting photos of my kids online. It’s become a really nice library of images (and printed books!) to look back on as my kids grow. And it’s the best way to stay in touch with other kids I love and who I’m not able to see during the pandemic.

6 years and going strong

We have used this service for 6 years beginning with the birth of our oldest. We captured the weather the day she was born “feels like -40” (screenshot of weather app) and haven't looked back. It’s the only way I share photos with family. Private, ad-free and easy to use. My whole family uses this app and loves it. We also get the photo books sent automatically.. baby book, done! Family albums, done. Highly recommend!

Great private, simple but powerful app

Love the privacy and the lack of ads. Very simple easy-to-use interface. It’s simply perfect for keeping a small group of friends and family in on your kiddos life. Sometimes uploads on videos can be buggy and you might have to try it again... but it’s free and private, so it’s well worth that small inconvenience. Love that it has apps for iOS and android and a website as well. Just really well thought through and simple. Family loves being able to download the media for offline use too.

Two years in and still loving it

Downloaded Notabli two years ago to use to share photos of our baby with friends and family because we aren’t big fans of giving our kid an online presence before they can give permission. Now with even more privacy red flags with Facebook Im really glad we did. Two years in and we love it. Looking back I’m so glad we’re using it, as it basically has become a digital baby book. Because I didn’t want to overload people I curated the couple of things I posted every week or two, and it’s created a really special collection.

Friends and family get email updates with no ads and they aren’t added to a spam list (a friend of mine uses tinybeans and the ads and spam they send me drives me crazy).

The platform is intuitive and easy, both in an app and in a traditional browser. My only complaint is that I wish you could reply to people’s comments. And I wish that more of my friends had kids on the platform.

Highly, highly recommend.

Nice format like the album makeup

So far I Like the format and uploading is easy! I like being able to assign both kids or individually. I’m interested to see what possible sorts are going to be a available like by year month etc. making books could be chronologically fun. This app will be really nice for my ex-wife and I to share old memories and new one with our kids. That’s what my hope is for the app.
My one suggestion and reason for 4 star rather than 5 is the bulk loading option isn’t there. If I could select a number of images and upload it would be less time intensive.

Thanks for your kind review, and we appreciate your feedback! We designed Notabli to keep people up-to-date and post moments as you go, rather than a place to bulk-upload many photos at once. This also works hand-in-hand with our automatic book subscriptions, when enabled. That being said, we know people use Notabli in many different ways, and sometimes it may be easier to select multiple photos/videos at once for upload. Feedback noted! ✍️

Excellent sharing app

I love this app for privately sharing all the updates on my son with our family and friends.
Note: Latest version won’t connect to the internet. All my other apps work just fine, and everything is up to date. Please fix

It is challenging to work with

It takes several tries to connect to the app. You can’t swipe through the pictures. The webpage interface doesn’t let you upload multiple files. I’m quite frustrated with the platform.

The only parenting advice I give is get this App

So easy to share every moment with those that care without bleeding the feed on social media or clogging up storage space in texts or emails. 100% love and recommend this app to any and everyone with children

Character limit

👋 Hi there. We appreciate the kind words! The caption character limit exists so that they can be printed in Notabli photo books when you or your viewers enable automatic book subscriptions. If you ever want to write something much longer, the Note moment type is a great option!
