Moneybeggers

Can’t even have a look at an app without paying. Disgusting!

This is the best

This is the best thing to do with music

So much fun

I’m having so much fun and of course I’m not going anywhere for a couple weeks so I’m going to try to keep playing and practicing

Response from developer

That’s awesome to hear! Wish you all the best in your piano learning journey!

Confusing purchase model

I found the purchasing subscription model confusing. Within the apps, there’s several different options that don’t make intuitive sense. And I think they’re monthly or yearly subscriptions, but they are presented almost as if they are one time purchases. Even the trial was confusing as to what I had access to and what I didn’t.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback. This app started with the Game Drills only for the first 5 years. Then expanded to include Sight Reading (non-gamified exercises). Game Drills remain a one-time purchase. Sight Reading is a sub (we didn’t want everyone to feel obligated to purchase and wanted to keep the price accessible for people’ needs). More questions? Visit www.notequest.net or email us. Info@notequest.net. We’re releasing a new version this week with some bug fixes.

Does not work

I love this app

I love playing piano and this app makes me so much better

Unimpressed

Paid a tenner for whatever drill it’s called, app locked up, stuck on the page asking for money and totally unresponsive,

“Free” Trial is misleading

I was trying out the app to see if it would be a good fit for my studio. When I do free trials, I always cancel right after I get it, so I don’t get charged if I forget to cancel. (If I really use the app, I can be reminded to renew, but forgetting to cancel is how they get you.) They offered a week free trial, so I subscribed. And I immediately cancelled it, only to find out that my card had already been charged for the monthly fee! That was not the agreement! So now I can’t even fairly judge the app because I’m salty about your business practices.

Response from developer

Hi, I believe there is a misunderstanding. The free trial is for administered by Apple and it works like all the other apps. Please contact us at info@notequest.net with screenshots that describe your issue and I’m sure we can figure out a fair solution.

how much?

Your interface asks me to "click to buy subscription" before I know how much it will cost. That's unlikely. It appears to have advanced content, also available without specifying my cost. Am I missing it?

Not very easy to use on mobile iPhone

A very difficult and expensive app

I found this app seriously frustrating. To begin with, I paid for the app and I only got a very basic introduction to the piano. On top of this, it is complicated to use and the time consuming. Basically, I gave it one star but it doesn’t deserve that!

Very Useful with Major Annoyance

The sight reading exercises are well thought out and helpful. I'm using an IPad and the sizing of the notes on the screen is just right. It's obvious that the developer put some effort into creating this app.

Now for the major annoyance. While playing the exercises the screen will randomly change to a bird popping up and telling you that you have earned badges, and completely ruining one's concentration. Please tell me how I can stop this from happening! I am not a child and don't care about badges. Even if I were a child this would still be annoying.

Hi, Thank you for your valuable feedback. I understand where you’re coming from- it’s the first time someone commented on the badge earning popup. I will surely keep that in mind for a future update. Best, GL.

Amazing app!!!

The app (game drills) only has one time setting of 15 seconds which is way too fast, especially when you are just beginning and need time to think. You just have to keep pressing restart. Adding a timer selection ie. 30 sec, 1, 5 minutes and timeless mode would make this 5/5 stars!

Edit: Review edited, developer did have a way to remove timer

Terrific and practical for learning

This is an app that checks all the boxes for me for piano learning. It doesn’t feel gimmicky like some other apps I tried, and the repetition is exactly what I need. Great value for the price. Glad my teacher introduced it to me.

Me

I don’t understand what’s going on. I’m a beginner and I’m lost. Giving me a bunch of notes. I am playing it but I’m not sure if I’m hitting the right notes. It’s not prompting me whether it’s right or wrong. Terrible.

Excellent!

My students and I love playing this game as a warm up or cool down to the lesson!

It’s pretty good

I like the app, and it works well. One thing I don’t like is that any level above drill practice 1# you have to pay for.

Doesnt work with an audio interface to the piano

The app advertises that it can listen to you play and grade you - but it doesn’t seem to work that way (it doesn’t use your microphone to listen to what you’re playing)

Hope for Problem Readers

Grace Lee has managed to pull off a minor miracle here with this ingenious app! Just when I thought there was no hope for some of my students who were problem readers, the software worked its magic and got them to look at pitches and rhythms in novel ways.

Response from developer

Rich from Seattle, WA, Thank you! Glad the App is serving its purpose - to provide a fun and easy way for students to work in note learning via repetition and recognition during this crucial stage of music learning. Best to you and your teaching studio!

MUST HAVE IN YOUR TOOLBOX ❤️

I’m completely floored! Finally a decent sight reading app every student should have access too. Aside from being aesthetically pleasing and fun for the eye, it seems like it has everything I’m looking for…which is so so rare. Literally. I would think “oh cool, but does it have THIS?” And ten seconds later I find it. Happy premium member and soon to be sight reading pro 💕💕
