Nova: Star Drafting Cards

Nova is a quick card-drafting game about collecting stars, grouping them by colour and cashing them in at the right moment. A full match takes about five minutes. The deck holds sixty star cards in six colours, values one to five. On your turn you take one of the five face-up cards from the market or gamble on a blind draw from the deck. Colours score in groups: two or more stars of a colour are worth the count multiplied by your highest value in it, while a lone star is a dead star and costs you a point. Hold three or more of one colour and you can GO NOVA — discard the whole group to instantly bank double its value, at the price of shrinking your hand cap by two.
