Some inaccurate scanning
Just purchased but not sure if I can cancel? A little unwieldy and items scanned come up with incorrect results. Eg Bold Beans white beans as chickpeas. I edit and then when I then go to add white beans it says I already have it. Additionally everything defaults to the date scanned so in order to work with the dates I have to input those too.

Fantastic app!
Ver 7.4.6 - I love this app! It’s very easy to use. I love using it to keep track of which foods are going to expire soon so I know what to cook next. That way it makes meal planning easier too. There was a problem with the app for a while but Kasper was very helpful and fixed the problem. I’m excited to use the app again and try out the new meal planning feature. The app and the customer service are both 5-star. I highly recommend this app to anyone who wants to save money and avoid food waste. Thank you, Kasper!

Always taking input and updating. I loved that I could scan a recipe page and input it to my recipe list but couldn’t search. Now I can SEARCH those inputted recipes! I can even generate recipe from things I have on had.

Great concept, disappointing execution
Really irritated that I paid for this app. Almost feel ripped off. Adding food to the inventory is extremely clunky and time-consuming. When scanning barcodes, expiration dates are never correct (almost everything defaults to expiring today). If I have my fridge list open as I’m scanning then why are the items being added to the pantry??? The minute I added a custom category to the category list, all other default categories disappeared and won’t come back. I didn’t even get through the 15 items on the top shelf of my refrigerator before giving up. It would literally take all day to build an accurate inventory of the food in my house. Was really excited to try this out but ended up being a huge letdown.

Invaluable for stock control.
I use this mainly for my freezer items and find it great for knowing exactly what’s in my freezer. However, it obviously only works if you keep it up to date!

Ancora non idoneo al mercato italiano: con la scansione dei codici a barre viene riconosciuto il 3% dei cibi… qui di sono tutti da inserire a mano. Inoltre, volendo categorizzarli, mancano diverse categorie. Non esiste ad esempio una categoria Primi Piatti (es: pasta, oppure zuppe pronte..). Inoltre non la trovo intuitiva nell’utilizzo. Ad esempio: ho già inserito un cibo nel frigo (in quantità superiore a 1, quindi si genera un gruppo) e ne voglio inserire un’altro pezzo. Non sembra esserci un modo rapido, devo riscansionare il prodotto?!

Lebenslange Pro Version gekauft - und jetzt Abo zahlen? 2019 habe ich NoWaste Pro kostenpflichtig erworben. Das lief auch ganz nett. Und seit das Modell auf Abo umgestellt wurde, ist meine Pro Lizenz ungültig und mein Login und meine Daten sind auch gelöscht? Das ist unlauter! 🙁

Ver 7.2.1 - With this update, the app won’t accept changes. I can’t change the title nor if the item is opened or unopened. I still can’t add items.
Ver 7.1.7 - I updated the app, logged out, force closed app, rebooted iPhone, logged back in then, added an item. I got the check mark but, the new item didn’t appear in the inventory.
Ver 7.1.5 and 7.1.6 - Now when I press “add”, it no longer keeps spinning. I get the checkmark to indicate the item’s been added but, the item isn’t added. When I check my inventory, the items weren’t added. I don’t know where they went ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Thank you for this update. At least, it fixed part of the solution.
Version 7.1.4 - Still no change. I appreciate how many updates were issued but unfortunately, they haven’t fixed the problem.

Now what I plan to do is, instead of deleting or marking an item as finished, I’ll just change the name and other info to reflect a new item I want to add. This is the only way I can think of to work around the problem until it is fixed and I hope that happens soon because I am a subscriber. I was thinking of cancelling my subscription but it had already renewed recently so I’ll try this workaround and see how it goes and decide what I’ll do next renewal time.

Useful but no support
I went to share the app with my husband, it wouldn’t take my app credentials and then when I tried to log back into the account on my phone it wouldn’t accept my password or allow me to reset it. The password reset link on the app will not work. I have emailed support and they have yet to contact me. I had lost all my scanned data and purchased account. So I had to make a new account and rescan all of my stock.

I have amended my previous review which was not very favourable due to issues I was having with limited logging of food despite being on a pro membership.
I can only say that the developer went above and beyond trying to clarify what the problem was.
This is by far the best food inventory app out there.

AI update has broken app
App was working fine but has now done an AI update and will no longer open. Just a spinning symbol. Can’t access anything.

This app is great. I use it to keep an inventory of my deep freezer. It’s handy to have at the grocery store too. I was having an issue with the app and emailed the developer. He got back to me right away and fixed it!

This has been so useful. As someone who does a lot of cooking & always mindful of using any leftovers for another meal, this app has been a game changer in terms of my food inventory. Love it.
